And I just laughed at him.
This is maaaaybe premature there, ESPN. Maryland #1 FWIW.
And I just laughed at him.
yea i really didn't get that comment at all..
Mark Mays is a racist
Why is Mark May a racist? I admit that I have not read all of his stuff, or listened to all of his drivel... but from what I have read and heard I do not make him out to be a racist.
Seriously, please enlighten me on your case as I am very interested in this. But if this comment is limited to to the fact that Mallett is white and Pryor is black - I'm not sure I find that compelling enough to draw that general conclusion.
I have missed some sarcasm before but DAMN this is pretty obvious.
Stop searching4meaning in TPryor's posts. Take a look at his posting history and slap yourself.
I spend 11 weeks struggling, banging out snarky quip after quip, amassing those things we don't talk about, one at a time, grinding away. Then, TPryor joins the MGoCommunity and more than doubles my total of things we don't talk about in 24 hours. I'm amazed. If the NFL doesn't work out for him, he's got a major career in blog posting ahead of him.
Hang in there big guy; you just need to find your niche.
At this rate he'll have more points than Brian by the new year.
Brian goes on vacation, and TPryor shows up. Coincidence? Hmmm...
Have you ever seen the two of them post on the same thread?
"I don't know when someone's joking" fail
You made me do one of those high-pitched laughs.
this is actually Terrell Pryor
Over the last year or so, I've begun to agree with Mark May (I hated him during the 2006-2008 time frame), I always viewed him as anti-Michigan. Lately though i've been okay with him, but comments like this remind me, he's not a complete ally.
I'm having a hard time laughing at fools as of late. I wasn't angry at the anti-Big 10 parts, or the pro-SEC parts, or the fact that I disagree. In the whole thing, I heard "I guarantee you", and I heard not one piece of evidence, logical argument, or a shred of reason why I should belive him. I'm tired of being insulted. Sorry for the rant, so let me leave you in a better mood: T Pryor is banned for the first 5 games next year.
what was that last part bout?
Sorry TP, enjoy your time off. Most people on the Internet polls think you're going pro. You gonna play special teams next year?
Put him in the right special teams system and he would DOMINATE
Maybe TPryor will turn into a dedicated kick returner like Antwaan Randle-El for the Steelers. He spends so much time avoiding contact with other players that he'll be perfect.
..during last year's game he got to the edge and was dashing towards JT Floyd, with no one behind him. I was getting freaked that he was going to run over him and keep going, and then he pansied to the sideline. I lawled
Yeah, he seems to be one of those players who can't think for himself. After that play, he probably went to the sideline and got an earful.
Then he probably said, "But coach, you told me to run out of bounds rather than taking contact!"
Then the coach probably said, "Yeah, but not when you've only got a small, slow-ish cornerback standing between you and the end zone!"
mark may where i least expect him.
Like at a Mensa convention?
Mark May must die along with Robert Smith. Hanging around Evil Doctor Lou too long no doubt. I am wishing ESPN regroups and adds new blood to game day next year.
Wouldn't be surprised to see this cost OSU next year, so as a U of M fan, it couldn't be better really. Puts a little extra pressure on Tressel for the Ark game and I think they lose this one even with their gangstas. COuld this be the first sign of the meltdown on the Scioto we've been yearning for?
Legends and Leaders baby.....Legends and Leaders!
Robert Smith is a douche also, but at least Smith refuted Mays inference that the NCAA favors the B1G and Pac 12 over the SEC. The NCAA overlooks so many blatant SEC violations its silly.
I'm rooting for Arkansas and Mallett to stick it to OSU.
Just checking. Bury those bulldongs please.
Mark May says things that make sense. Usually! Holtz is always riding OSU & ND and Mays is always against him, which I love. But he was wrong for pointing at the B10. SEC, Really (Cam Newton). Anyway my only gripe is that they didn't get suspended for the bowl game. I thought it should of taken place immediately.
that a star player from ANY BCS team will not be suspended from their bowl game. You don't mess with the BCS is the NCAA's motto. I do not agree with Mark May on this one.
I hope OSU appeals all of these suspensions and has them reduced to 4 games...the Buckeyes play MSU in their fifth game in 2011.
Mark May is usually hit or miss. He predicted us to pound Nebraska in the 05 Alamo Bowl. But he didn't know the Sun Belt refs would literally give the game to the Huskers.
And I do love all the WTF looks he gives to Lou Holtz every time he talks about how ND is going to challenge for the national championship. But you're right. With the whole Cam Newton thing, he just sounded like an idiot with this quote. It must be a rule that if you work in the media, you have to kiss SEC ass. All this despite the fact that in the SEC, if you ain't cheating, you ain't trying.
I am going to up the ante and say Mark May is 95% miss and 5% jackass.
for Heisman train May has been solidly on the Cam Newton bandwagon, even debating Holtththth on multiple occasions about the reasonableness of giving the Heisman to somebody against whom no allegations have (yet) been proven.
Purely guesswork here, but I would surmise that May has little love for the Big Ten due to the fact that the conference has consistently overshadowed Pitt and the rest of the Big East.
I remembered that part of the clip and wondered if anyone else noticed. Lo and behold, first thing I see, and posted by someone who actually remembered the guy's name!
Is this the guy MGoPeople have commented is way slanted to the SEC? I can't believe his main point was the hypocrisy of the NCAA!! And the passion with which he made his point! Ummm.... good, innocent SEC that always behaves itself, except for minor things like [allegedly] buying players and [documented] over-signing and dumping scholarship kids by the side of the road. And letting the Evil Big Ten[11/12] get away with supervised overstretching! (other than 3 years of unwarranted negative attention.)
Of course, as pointed out above, he relieves himself of using any facts to support his argument/accusations. But Geez. Where does this come from?
Mark May doesn't understand the concept of context. Every SEC program except Vandy has been on probation in the last 20 years, I think.
For not being competative. If not for Jay Cutler I wouldn't know they exist.
Mark May defend these comments. I really would. I want to see how much mental gymnastics he has to pull off for that one.
What did Mark May say about Brady Hoke?
You assume that Mark May thinks Cam Newton did something wrong. Anyone who wins the Heisman can't be bad.
Oh yeah, because AJ Green at Georgia was punished so much stricter for what he did then the 5 Ohio State players. And Cam Newton's career was totally ruined by the NCAA from their punishment on him. Like WolverineHistorian said, Mark May is very hit or miss. It looks like he completely missed on this one.
they didn't suspend the OSU players for the bowl game...That would have hurt everyone's bottom line.
Paul Finebaum ......JERK
Yeah, I thought the OSU players were incredibly stupid and the delayed suspension hits the credibility of the NCAA, but 5 games + repayment seems harsh for something that didn't implicate recruiting or competitive balance. NCAA needs to move away from standards-based sanctions and toward strict rules with clearly defined sanctions with little discretion for the decision makers. It'll cost lest for the schools to not have to put together massive broad-based defenses, and with bright-line rules and amount schools already spend on internal compliance, "lack of education" problems should just be between the school and the athlete without any cognizance by the NCAA. As it is, the rules seem like guidelines and complete absense of uniformity in enforcement seems laughable.
WTF that dude has moved into celebrity status in a day! Dude had 500 points yesterday and over 2000 today. Holy shit!
...he is really funny. Now that he is off to a great start, I hope he figures out just the right time to stop and change his handle before people start to say "enough."
That might be a good time. I just hope we're not creating a monster who can troll with impunity when this act gets old. But to his credit, it hasn't yet.
As long as the mods still wield the banhammer of doom, the safety and security of the MGoWorld is assured. God help us all if that technology falls into the wrong hands.
EDIT: Nevermind, it's Christmas. I can wait a few days before busting on good old Steve again.
........Columbus sports radio interview, Terrelle Pryor said he'd dominate the news if he had chose ESPN instead of tOSU.
I mean, everybody says stupid things. Sticks their foot in their mouth. Right?
ESPN works for the SEC now, so do you really expect him to bad mouth his boss?
Well he started with a complete bs statement-"Obviously Ryan you're shocked because this is Ohio State and these things don't usually occur there". After that it was just ridiculous statement after ridiculous statement.
Mark May prefers Hershey Syrup in his milk
Is a fricking hack. He should find another occupation.
As usual Mark May is making completely unfounded, empty claims. Hey Markie: Cam Newton. End of debate.
As far as the Big Ten being the golden boy Mr May? Well if you consider that it is the only BCS conference that has higher GPA requirements than the NCAA requires to be eligible to play each week, and it doesn't have a team like Florida that has had 24 (I might be off by one or two) players arrested since Urban Meyer took over, I think it's more than far to consider The Big Ten "the golden boy" because, well, it's not full of criminals (for the most part)...
Except for the folks up 23 and over 96....
