Mark Dantonio is a moron - MSU vs. AirForce

Submitted by IvyLeague on

MSU up 35-14 on Air Force and he keeps all of his starters in with 6:00 mins left in the game. Lawrence Thomas just went down with a bad knee injury.

EDIT: Some will comment that we had our starters in, however, as a poster noted I think it's different because our starters are unproven, while Michigan State is clearly a proven side.

UPDATE: 2 mins left and Bullough just got kicked out of the game.

Well his defense is very suspect, now. They allowed 24 points from Western Michigan, should've lost to a poor Oregon at home but luckily for them only allowed 28 points, and then 21 points at home to Air Force.

Alternatively, you could say Oregon got lucky to be in that situation, as we were missing our starting LB, CB, and OT.  Indeed, you can play this game all day, with any game. Football turns on plays you could call "lucky". I believe Oregon State snapped a ball ten feet over their punter's head, did they not? Are you marking that down to Harbaugh's amazing coaching, or luck?

It just makes your fanbase look incredibly insecure when you desperately try to denigrate everything MSU has accomplished over the past decade or so. Why is acknowledging reality so difficult? There's only so much you can chalk up to luck before it begins to stretch the bounds of credibility. MSU is, what, 6-1 against the top 10 in the past couple years? Yet you've managed to create a world for yourself in which those 6 were dreadfully overrated, MSU is just lucky, and soon everything will return to 1974, because your fragile psyche won't allow for a good instate program to compete with UM.

Why is offering an alternate viewpoint considered trolling? I admit calling it "delusion" may be considered offensive, but other than that, I've said precious little that would be considered trolling. But what else could I really term it, when you consistently rationalize another top 10 victory by saying they weren't really that good, MSU is flawed, UM is going to roll Sparty, etc. I mean, there were actually people opining about how Utah is better than Oregon. That, to me, is a sign of insecurity.

But why would viewing another team's blog be considered insecure? I look at EDSBS, OTE, BHGP, TOC, and 11W, among other college sports blogs. So far, mgoblog is the only one so insular, so beset by rampant groupthink, that it claims an alternative viewpoint - one supported by facts and statistics rather than hope, no less - is trolling.

You are here and do t root for The University of Michigan. Here's troll factoids:

Trolling requires decieving; any trolling that doesn't involve decieving someone isn't trolling at all; it's just stupid. As such, your victim must not know that you are trolling; if he does, you are an unsuccesful troll.

Signs that your trolling is succesful:
*Your victim screaming in all-caps at you.
*Being an Internet Tough Guy.
*Making a crude remark, before quickly logging off before you can retort.

Signs that your trolling is unsuccesful:
*Your victim identifying you as a troll.

Douche move getting tossed out of a game against a service academy team when you're up 21. State has given up 3500 yards of offense in their last five games going back to last year.

Mike D'Antoni is playing to the playoff committee. He wants a way in after they lose to Ohio. He's hoping they won't notice AFA outgined them by 100  yards.

MSU is competing for national supremacy. Part of how you get that is to absolutely curb stomp some opponents. Easiest way to run it up is to keep your starters is. Actually, I would support teams doing this more. When you're up big, you can practice the passing game.
