Very coincidental, a day after the BBQ :)
always one of my favorites.
And good first post. +1 to you, sir.
I'm always afraid to post here because of how people freak out if the most minor of details is not right.
most of the minor details aren't right?!
Something's not right? Downvotes ahoy!
You know how people freak. The title has to be informative, but not too informative. And dont fourget the gramer Nazzi's.
Many have faced the mgomob, and all have walked away with their lives. People freaking out around here is just part of the experience.
I learned my lesson early on.
I made a post saying Eduardo Clements commits to UM. It was Miami instead of Michigan. People got mad.
Next time, try it with the UM meaning Urban Meyer. I dare you.
Text came through on iPhone and messed me all up. Blast!
Grammar -1
No ability to detect sarcasm*. -1
* or else you really thought that "Nazzi's" was correct, in which case -1 for that.
No ability to detect double secret reverse sarcasm. -1*
* Not really b/c I'm not sure either. What were we talking about?
"fourget" somehow looked good enough to scoot under his watchful grammar eye.
thats because he is probably candian judging by his name, so by that I am going to bring up that the word forget was spelled like that by a professor I had who was also candian
I once had that issue too - but I suggest grabbing a Choabani and just start threads. ;) Once you get one out of the way the downvotes for non perfection go away. The yogurt helps the pain go away.
MGoBlog? Wut???? News to me....
excellent to know that the culture of fear remains strong around these parts
You spelled miner wrong, dumbass. Get out and don't come back!
I made my first post yesterday for the BBQ event and I definitely made sure everything was well put together before I hit save. Mgo makes you be on point like that.
One time I had an index on H, and all hell broke loose. Utkiijed kuje tgus (It looked like this). It was like third grade all over again, so embarrassing.
Am I really the only one left who uses the "hunt and peck" technique? :(
I know how to type, but have always preferred to just hunt and peck -- although there's definitely a lot more pecking than hunting.
He also named a top 3 of Michigan, Miami, and Oregon IN ORDER. Will decide after officials to the other schools.
When guys are committed to a school for a long time then decommit. The school generally doesn't even make the list going forward.
When you think about it though, even with a policy like Hoke's (we won't keep your spot open if you look elsewhere), which seems to be one of the harshest around, if you're wavering in your commitment but still highly interested, there's not much reason to decommit in the first place. Stay committed but keep evaluating. Unless something big happened, like the coach that had been recruiting you left, putting you back in many ways to square one (may just be wishful thinking re borges/harris), I wouldn't decommit until I was pretty sure that school had been eliminated from contention...
Think of it like a tournament. Florida was the #1 seed and Michigan beat them, so now Michigan is the favorite and Florida is out of contention. If a guy recommits, it's because it's a double-loss elimination.
Which is why I am not getting high on any belief Harris is coming back. I am sure UM is still in his top 3 but once you "break up" like that it is difficult to go back.
As for the top 3, well i was hoping he would commit immediately. It will be interesting to see if UM is #1 right now due to recency bias or if its legit.
Where'd you see the order? I've only seen his list (and it still includes FL). He did tell Sam UM is "on top" so your order makes sense...I just hadn't seen it.
Interview with Ryan Bartow of 247Sports
“Michigan, Miami and Oregon in that order you could say,” Lewis said. “I’m hoping to take official visits to those places, Maryland and I’m not sure about the another one yet. I’m hoping to hear from UCLA, too.”
Not worried - no one BBQs like Hoke, especially not in South Beach or Eugene.
Which position is Mich recruiting him as?
Cornerback
Macho Man "oooh yeeeeea"
So you're telling me there's a chance!
The plot thickens.
This is quite promising, considering his comments after the bbq.
going to see the "hello" post?
I didn't know MGoBloggers would feel so negatively about this post.
I am assuming its because MSU has adopted it. I have no problem with it though.
In all seriousness, this happens ALL THE TIME. I think we have had our fair share. CROOTIN'
The man's going to have to get a role in a romantic comedy or something. He's a terrific actor, but how many gangsta roles can one man play?
Played a cop in the robocop reboot
I think he played a cop in "Gone Baby, Gone." Underrated movie.
He played a cop in Trapped in the Closet too.
Coommmeeee Ooonnnnn Dooowwwnn!
He be crootin.
Now has Michigan at 67%. I have to believe the rest haven't gotten around to changing yet. I like that Florida isn't in his final three.
This tells me we are in excellent shape.

Good stuff! He would make a great addition if he signs in Feb.
Seat belts engaged
We're unequivocally in the lead, but he wants to take officials, so probably won't commit until sometime in the fall.
I can wait
Third time lucky?
Seems that Mr. Lewis committed to VaTech last November. Decommitted in December.
Committed to Florida in April. Decommitted today.
Hopefully he takes his time before committing for the third time. It is more important that he make the right decision for himself than a quick decision based on BBQ euphoria.
That being said, GO BLUE Mr. Lewis.
I will go on a limb and say he commits to Michigan this week.
I'm assuming it's the case as well, but the Michigan staff had a pretty good relationship with Lewis prior to filling out the CB class before Crawford's decommit. So they had been able to build a lot of the foundation before getting back in it.
And for those wondering about the decommitted school no longer being in the top 3, part of waivering leaves you believing there is something better out there, so decommitting really means you probably think there is something better. On top of that, most coaches may still recruit you, but they aren't necessarily going to run out the red carpet for you again after they already made decisions based on the fact that you were committed once. So at that point, it's likely fairly mutual.
Who's Crawford?
/s
Should be able to remove the "de" pretty soon, hopefully.
Never underestimate the power of good barbecue.
I'm getting ready to "BU-buckle up" just in case.
Come on down Marcus.
Don't know when Mr. Lewis will be blue, but he will be blue.
I know we only have a few spots left, and some areas with no commits yet (DT, OLB), but does anyone have a strong sense of what positions will fill out the last few spots?
Related, we have 2 DBs already in a small class, I'm a bit surprised we are taking a third. That seems like an area really stacked with a lot of young, versatile talent. I guess we've recrtuied most positions well over the last few years, but still seems like an overload there to take 3 DBs in a really tiny class with that much young talent on the roster.
Top 2 would be an OLB and a DE. After that it's pretty open. Lewis would replace our friend who went to Notre Dame.
If Thompson and Roseboro commit that would fill those 2 spots. Roseboro seems more likely while Thompson is either MSU or UM it seems.
Outside of that there is 1 slot devoted to a RB, seems like Weber is the focus now with Harris likely going to OSU. (I guess Kentucky in theory too)
Tyrone Wheatley Jr seems to be the other "reserved" slot, most likely as a DE as his size is getting too large for TE.
So that would be 4-5 slots and then you probably have room for 1-2 more out of attrition but I dont know where they'd target those. It won't be a QB, or DT. Cole just filled the WR spot and we are really not favorites for other WRs at this point. I assume if KLS were interested they'd take another DE but I am not that optimistic he is leaving the west coast and I don't know if you take Roseboro, Wheatley and KLS. If Thompson goes MSU I am not sure who are other OLB options are.
- Open Pit
- Lemons
- Liberal amounts of Snake Oil
- Peppers
Seatbelt watch
Come on down!
What the hell are you waiting for?
I'm looking at you Mr. Lewis!
We're waiting...
Love Malzone and Kirkland tweeting him pic of the Big House lol
I just looked at some film on Marcus(Just a few minutes).
I'm not an expert, but I played the game for 10 years.
He has the D1 size and speed. What jumped out to me is he seems to love contact and tackling. This is a good thing that he is not a finese guy that does like to get his hands dirty, This guy brings the wood has Ronnie Lott used to say.
Speed is not 4.4 or in the elite area based on the film (he's fast and shifty, though), but he has size and he is a hitter.
TVH, sensei of the MgoBlog Recruitnik Dojo, has added a brilliant, yet subtle, wrinkle to his repertoire, first the un-buckle, followed fortuitously by the BUCKLE-UP...damn he's good
