March Madness: Sweet 16 (Thursday) [OPEN THREAD]

What a great game.

wisconsin down 8, now up 5.  quite a run.   i have the badgers winning it in our pool.  go big 10, if not michigan or northwestern, i can root for the badgers. 

Wow - only 10 total turnovers in the first 36 minutes.  That tells you about the quality of this game.

I cannot wait until all these douchey Badgers graduate.

Man I fucking hate Gasser. Can't wait to never see him in a Wisconsin uniform again.

And the red wings...man...they better start winning. They just scored to make it 5-4, but they need points.

I don't know what it is about the Badgers sports teams, but I just cannot stand them. They're annoyingly good. Like, I hate OSU and MSU for obvious reasons, but I truly hate Wisconsin teams.

That was a travel by Dekker, but a cool move anyway.

Amazing how teams let themselves get beat by the three when the one thing they absolutely can't do is get beat by the three.

This Wisconsin vs North Carolina game is tournament great.

"You don't need a 3" and "You don't need to foul"  - it's almost like color commentators are paid to deliver those two lines, they say them so much.

Gasser confused. In the Big Ten that's not a foul.

Wisconsin's whining is beyond annoying

Man I'm so conflicted here.  I hate UNC, but I hate Bo Ryan, but I like Kaminsky, but I hate Gasser and Dekker, but I hate Roy Williams, but my bracket has UNC.  Ugh.

Last several in a row.  That's the clutch play that separates the top teams from the rest.  Funny that their worst FT shooter on the floor at the end shoots 70%.  Dang.

Do all Nike schools have "Never Stops" warmup shirts?

So far the officiating has been questionable at best. They get West Virginias best player in foul trouble very early. Could be a long day for WV.

Kaminsky stays for a Sr yr and Dekker for a Jr year after a Final Four run. Bo might have a tougher time next year with 5 of top 6 gone, but they've made the tourney 13 years in a row. And they might have 3 final fours over that span. Hard to believe.

Anyone else surprised that it wasn't higher? I think even Chris Young had a 30 point game a few years back.

Well that's how you beat the press:  play good D so they never get the opportunity to press.

These skin-tight jerseys really aren't very flattering for a lot of Kentucky players.  They look like they shrunk in the wash.

 

Wisky/UNC was a phenomenal game.

That ref seriously called that WVU jumper a 3? He was clearly 5 feet within the line. The ref may have been concussed on that fall and is a little out of it.

I really thought WV could give Kentucky trouble with their press. I was wrong.

The refs are awful both ways. Are they even watching?

Welp! I'll go to bed now this game is done.

If they're going to blow the whistle warning Calipari for being on the court, Izzo is going to get ejected in about 3 minutes and 56 seconds. 

Word of advice to that WVU player who proclaimed Kentucky would be 36-1 by the end of the night:

If you're going to open your mouth, you'd better be ready to back it up.

Kentucky is really good.

Reffing in this tournament has been awful. Not for or against any one team, just in general.

We get it. Ashley Judd is a Kentucky fan. Nobody cares. When is the last time she was in a good movie anyway?
