March Madness National Championship Game Open Thread

So is there anyone who can't win money or has 0 affiliation with the Blue Devils who is actually rooting for Duke over Butler?

Maybe Clark Kellogg will mention Duke's "Recipe for Success" again? Maybe? And Nantz with an obviously-scripted line about Hoosiers.

Maybe Clark Kellogg will unzip Coach K and the rest of Duke's pants and do a certain usually something reserved for the ladies. My intense hatred of Duke is showing up with butterflys in my stomach usually reserved for Saturday's during the fall, or Sunday's (watching the Bills), etc...

The multiple IP address trolls are back out tonight (one in this thread). The ones that have been hammering aamichfan, GeaxBlu and me, and probably others. If I'm going to get neg-banged for nothing, I'm going to make them work for it, rather than post. Sucking the fun out of the board. Maybe see you when CRex updates. Night.

I feel like I'm watching us out there. Nice open shots that don't go in... Too bad, I feel like Butler has outplayed them tonight, but they don't have the points to show for it. Plagued them early and seems to be plaguing them now. Edit: And in the time it took me to post this, I switch the input of my monitor back to the game and see they've come back...

Hey, who said goodnight, Butler is battling. And this game has to be an instant classic. BTW Boujue nice call on score and closeness prediction.

Well, what do you expect from man who just killed his childhood idol? Sure, he sounds crass. But how would you sound if you just killed your hero, you don't speak any English, and suddenly the country whose values you espouse and secretly dream of bringing to your country hates you? Drago did not kill Apollo Creed. Apollo Creed killed apollo creed, with assists from Rocky Balboa and an incompetent referee. The fact of the matter is that Creed killed himself when he manipulated his way into fighting Drago. He had no business getting in the ring with anyone, for that matter. He was a god damned Has Been, just like straight-shooting Russian antagonist Nicoli Koloff said he was. Honestly, it could be argued that Creed was washed up before his first fight with Rocky. He eked out a controversial spit-decision victory against a struggling club fighter who only had six weeks to train for the fight. Then, a year later, he was knocked out by the same club fighter, who was boxing right-handed for the first time, nursing a surgically repaired eye, and had virtually no strategy (Run through him? Run over him? Thanks, Mick). What business does a man like that have getting into a ring with someone who can punch at 2150 pounds per square inch? Of course Drago punched a hole through Creed's head -- it's not his fault -- with 2150 psi, he could punch a hole through God.

Fantastic game. Well played by both teams. I like how the refs let them play... a couple slightly questionable calls, but nothing too egregious. Great way to end the tourney.

is really feeling bad for Butler. So close, so many wide open shots that didn't go. Two near misses that cost them the game. Disney neglected to mention the part where Cinderella got gunned down by a renegade peasant...

Tough, tough lose. I am taking it hard, and I am not connected to either school directly. My cousin goes to Duke, but the doucheyness of the program heavily outweighs that. Heartbreaking game, but a great one.
