March 13: "M Owns Munn II"

Submitted by MGoShoe on
U-M hockey fans must once again take advantage of MSU's spring break and make March 13, "M Owns Munn II." Take revenge for all the Crisler invasions and help Hockey continue to spur the Michigan Reconquista.

With that win WE HAVE THE MOMENTUM on our side right now. In my opinion the pressure is all on MSU tomorrow night. Their fan base was dead and silent and our was alive and energetic all over Munn. We come out of the gate, play that hard, defend that well and score that often again then State is done and in their own arena. Michigan has woken up from the nightmare of the regular season. Now they smell blood in the water and they are going for the kill. All of Sparta will burn.

Buy them here: http://ev9.evenue.net/cgi-bin/ncommerce3/SEGetEventList?groupCode=H&lin… Pick up with will call. Michigan fans are everywhere judging from tonight's audio stream. Got 10 for my friends and I in row 2 tomorrow! Hope section J is Michigan's on O for 2 periods. Anyone know whether that's correct? Looking forward to taking over Yost-II!

I fully intend to go tonight. Last night I had a huge project I had been working on forever and still didn't finish (Boo 280), but today I am well rested and free. East Lansing, here we come.

I'm about to buy tickets for tonights game. Does anyone know which end of the ice we score on twice? I want to get seats near center, but more on our offensive side, probably by the blue line. Should we all try to pack into a certain section?

to anyone who after tonight's (hopefully-- don't want to jinx it) victory, jumps on the ice and goes all Sir Edmund Hillary and pic-axes a flag plant at center ice. 'cause you know, we need to start that all over again.

Michigan attacks the end of the arena that has sections M,N, and O. If you are sitting on the Press Box side, they will attack to the left. GO BLUE!!

Does anybody know if you can simply buy tickets at the door at Munn tonight? I'd rather do that, than pay the "service fee." Let's face it, giving MSU anything extra is just wrong.

How is it so easy for Michigan fans to get tickets? I understand that it's spring break for MSU, but don't they have their own rabid hockey fanbase looking to buy tickets? I'm amazed that they wouldn't turn out to see a home game against Michigan.

Their fanbase used to be strong, now they're just old. The average attendance at Munn has plunged 20 percent or so over the last few years. I think a lot of the problem yesterday was that the CCHA playoff tickets are not part of the season ticket package for MSU, like they are at Michigan. So the hockey season-ticket holders would have to make an actual effort to go out and buy tickets for these games. With the Spartans playing basketball in Indianapolis, and the students on Spring Break this past week, most of their fanbase was either out of town or watching TV.

Thanks for the ticket advice. Great game; it was my first Michigan away-game experience in any sport. My friend and I were in a mostly Spartan section (I got some looks when I kept yelling "Who cares" during the Spartan player intros...not sure what came over me, I coulda gotten a beat down =P) After the 1st period we left and joined the student section and it got even better because we could cheer and chant with a lot more freedom. Even though we were a pretty small crowd it felt pretty good to rub it everyone's faces after the win ("Sea-son's O-ver!" etc). The student section made it our own little home game; our hockey culture is a lot stronger and it was obvious tonight.
