Without him, we wouldn't have been beaten OSU or UCONN, but nonsense like this should suggest that he could use another year with Coach JB before heading off to the NBA.

I bet he thinks he's ready. I was merely pointing out that incidents like this suggest otherwise. (Of course, if one is engaging in such incidents, I don't really expect that person to engage in this type of deliberation - athlete or otherwise.)

This definately is a bummer. Hopefully this is just punishment for being late for a meeting or practice rather than something larger. We stand to lose a lot without Manny as he is the only player on our team that can consistently create his own shot. Definately will need someone else to step up today besides Sims. Hopefully we have a hot day behind the arc.

We all know Manny is probably the best player on this team. We also know that he isn't a perfect fit for Beilein's system. Maybe today everything will come together and the system will work to perfection. Heres hoping.

Manny shouldn't still be getting suspended by his own coach in his junior year. If you're going to get suspended, at least let it be due to jacking an MSU player in the face.

was lost anyway, at least in terms of tourney bid, this game will be interesting to watch in terms of a glimpse at the future of this team when Manny isn't around (particularly if Ziegler opts elsewhere and the "slashing wing" position sort of disappears).

Because he said it was lost? You know, without winning any of these games (without a wish or a prayer if Manny doesn't play), the season is pretty much lost. Because it's a glimpse at a Manny-less future? Uh, it is...and it's not even taking Sims out of the equation yet. Because Ziegler may opt elsewhere? Everyone from Brian on down is thinking that at the moment. And then yes, we will have NOBODY who can create off the dribble. We'll be looking at a lot of jacked up jump shots as the buzzer sounds...

an interesting game. Everyone will need to step up obviously, but it seems like Manny has been forcing way to much lately instead of letting the game come to him. We will really miss him on the boards, but it should be fun to watch what this team can do without Manny. Plus Maybe he will take this like hs benching a few games back and come out on fire against msu.

I guess it will be interesting to see if any of the guys on the team has a shiner or something. not to jump to conclusions, of course. but man what else could he have done in practice? Anyway, the line is all the way up to -13.5 for Purdue. Cant imagine it not growing at least another point in the next 4 hours

Sounds like there was an incident, then maybe Manny didn't react well to the aftermath. There seems to be some kind of ongoing tension between him and Beilein - the benching last year, again this year at certain points - now this statement from Beilein implies that is goes further than one specific practice altercation. You never know, maybe for this one game you see a team functioning better as a whole. I like Manny and wish it were otherwise but it is what it is.

Could we possibly get some p.t for Mclimans or Morgan and finally move Novak to the 3 now? Or are they red shirting this year and completely not ready for college bball yet? Either way, we need to have a perfectly executed team game today on both sides of the floor..

I am frustrated. Manny seems like such a good guy, hopefully this is a relatively minor thing. But not even travelling with the team sounds a bit worse. I trust JB to know what he's doing. I just hope this turns around on a dime.
