Manny Gone according to 97.1

Submitted by ChasingRabbits on
Oh well, not a big surprise. Wish him all the best. On a side note, listening to that clod Valenti giggle about it was the worst part. He has been making excuses for the Sparties soon to be loss all day. Give me back Stoney and Wojo...

I'm getting a bit sick of the rumors... looking forward to official word one way or the other from Manny so that they die down. Even a generic "exploring my options" would slow this beast down a bit... but maybe they're waiting until the tournament is over and they can figure out evaluations / other processes that have to take place prior to a decision before saying anything.

I'm not a Rivals subscriber, but they seem to be hinting that he will declare as well. Keep in mind, though, that he has until a week before the draft to return to Michigan if he doesn't sign with an agent. Given that ESPN's Chad Ford just called him the #85 draft prospect (in a draft in which 60 players are chosen), a return may not be out of the question.

There is also a big difference between declaring and hiring an agent. I think he would be wise to put his name in and get some feedback before he signs with anyone.

I also think the NBA lets you go to the pre-draft camp in Chicago before making a final decision to stay or go. Manny should definitely do that if he can and see where he stacks up against the best in the country. If his stock blows up he can take the money and if not he can always come back.

The final deadline is in June, seven days before the draft. He can go to all the predraft camps and even work out with individual teams, and still return if he doesn't sign with an agent.

I'll get worked up when Manny comes out and says, "yeah, I'm leaving." Until then, he's Ferris Bueller, and 97.1 is some chick in his economics class.

This is completely OT: Did anyone listen to 97.1 out here in LA when it was Free FM. That was the best FM talk show, it is now pumping out Top 40 music. My favorite shows were the Tim Conway Jr. Show and Adam Carolla.

So Valenti can throw out as many outrageous claims as he want, and that earns him the right to giggle like a little girl when one actually comes true? Call me when Gardner decommits from Michigan and goes to Florida.

also said Rodriguez would be fired two weeks after Michigan lost to Ohio state. Someone let me know when one of their michigan sports predictions come true.

One, you still listen to the clowns on 97.1. I have been 97.1 free for the past 2 months, and I have never felt better. Long gone are the days of me being aggravated and pissed because of the crap they spew daily. I say to all that read this, STOP SUPPORTING THAT STATION BY LISTENING TO THEM. Two, If Valenti is picking MSU to lose tonight, then it's typical BS Mike. He does this, just in case Sparty does lose, to head off phone calls that would be made the next day by saying "I told you so". F*cking Clown.

if Deshawn Sims isn't leaning towards leaving, then the NCAA is leaning towards forfeiting a good chunk of our schedule next year due to an ineligible player. ;)

i didn't hear this while i was at work (other cook has 97.1 on the radio all of the time) or i would have punted the radio... i'm starting to lean towards not listening to these fucks anymore... after the tOSU loss, they were both saying that manny was leaving for the nba, but a month before that they both said that he was to small (weight wise) and not good enough to play in the nba... so if terry is hearing this from the his "michigan mafia" sources, we're better off to wait until manny says something... but we all know where we can find out the truth... what does manny's facebook page say???

You have to understand Valenti's M.O.: to manage expectations of the two programs. undersell MSU and over sell UM so that no matter what, MSU exceeds expectations and UM never reaches them. MSU: this team has been thru so much, it's a miracle they even made it past the 1st round. UM: there's so much talent on that team, if they start teddy ruxpin and HR puffNstuff at QB & safety and they should win 9 games. BOOM EXPECTATIONS MANAGE'D
