Malware?

Submitted by casmooth on

Hey guys, have any of you been receiving this message when you attempt to access mgoblog?  No matter the browser, or computer for that matter, that I am using, I continue to get this warning.  I'm not a computer guy, so can anyone tell me what might have changed on the blog to cause this?  Thanks in advance.

I've seen the previous posts about this but didn't have the issues at the time. I have to admit it's pretty irritating. If Mgoblog has a virus then I do t want to be well!

Malware warning popped up when I opened a page on the website this morning -- so, it's not fixed.  Yell at me if you want but I'm still using IE (work computer and all), so for all you fancy folk who eat caviar and play polo and use Chrome or Firefox, my machine is a good test of the baseline.  And the virus is still there.

Tell me -- is there something significant to the fact that the first three letters of the virus are O-S-U ???

(It does mean, TPryor didn't write the virus, cuz if he did, the first three letters would be U-O-S.)

I am sorry to bother you guys about this.  But, I had a question.  I got system tools on Sat and i shut off my computer before the tools scan was done.  i then logged in as admin and deleted the file.  my computer seems to work fin right now, but google has crashed.  i wasn;t sure if it was infected or i just got twitter and it was slowing it down.

Thanks and sorry to bother you guys about this.

Anyone else having issues with the iPhone App crashing when you try to view the board or diaries? I even went as far as re-downloading the App and still not able to view them.

I had it happen last night, screwed up my computer, some system tool thing popped up and changed the background of my computer and nothing worked. Had to go into safe mode and buy Norton Antivirus. Then today I started using Google Chrome instead of IE, and got a wierd message about malware. So far this website has cost me 40 bucks.

I work in the "industry" and let me offer some advice. If you are getting a message like above, there are three possibilities. 1. The site could be infected, but I doubt it as the sites like these are professionally hosted and they regularly run virus scans. 2. One of the advertising image was infected. This is somewhat common scenario. 3. You are already infected and the message is to get you to download the payload. Whatever the case maybe, there is no reason to spend money on buying anti-virus and malware applications if you are running Windowns PC. Just go and download Microsoft Security Essentials (http://www.microsoft.com/security/products/mse.aspx). It is the best anti-virus software for PC and it is completely free. You really should not be browsing on the internet without it. You should also upgrade to the latest IE release as well.
