Make Your Way Too Early Predictions

Submitted by spam and beans on

It is time for early predictions.  Which Michigan players will be All Big Ten, which players will be All American, which player has a shot at the Heisman?

My Predictions

All Big Ten - Mike Martin, Roy Roundtree, David Molk, Martavious Odoms, Craig Roh, Steve Schilling, and whoever wins the QB battle

All Americans - Mike Martin, David Molk

Heisman - None this year, but watch out next year.

Go ahead, give it a try and do better.  Be brave and pick a darkhorse.  In seven months we will see who on this board can best look into the future.

I admit, my approach was abrasive, but I was getting annoyed at the indirect dissing of guys like Gittleson  for Barwis, and Robinson for Forcier.   But it was surprising, the negging I got to the point  where I was blocked, that many could not read the greatness of the message I was presenting, which will be proven true quite soon. Robinson will be a national name, much like Tebow was.

However, like I told you all well before the fact, that it will be all about Denard... he will be the golden egg for the return of our program.

the O line matters.  Healthy Molk and Nasty Lewan will play more of a role (I predict) in this year's success than the starting QB.  Both QBs can win.  Some of our linemen can maul.  I'll go with the second best QB behind our best maulers before the other one behind our backup hogs.

I agree with this.  He definitely has the ability to make ridiculous plays.  Hopefully its not Rod holding back with the tight ends.  It seems like this should be a strong point of the team this year.  It would be nice to see 60 yard touchdowns to TE's in winged helmets every once in awhile instead of....well......you know.

I have so been waiting for this post.  I haven't gotten to make predictions like this in days.  Ok, here goes:

We will go 11-1, end up in the Rose Bowl and lose to Stanford, causing the angry Michigan fanbase to call for RR's head.  RR will be fired and Harbaugh, fresh off of beating us in the Rose Bowl (and finishing 12-1) will quit Stanford to take over for RR.  We will build him a kick-ass personal bathroom.

Denard will take hold of the starting job, Tate will transfer to OSU, and, after realizing that both Devin and Denard are just too good not to have both on the field for every offensive down, Denard will edge Devin by a single vote for the Heisman.  (Bonus prediction: in 2011, it will be Devin that edges Denard by a single vote for the Heisman).

On defense, Dorsey will ace his academics to get in and, after being dismissed from the team for lacking family values, will be reinstated and go on to finish Second Team All Big Ten.  He will be joined there by RVB.  Craig Roh will be on the First All Big Ten Team, as will his eyebrows.

Oh, and the Big Ten will shock everyone and add no less than 9 teams to become the Big 20.  Those teams will be ND, USC, SDSU (who we will go on to form a rivalry with that will surpass our rivalry with OSU), EMU, CMU, Rutgets  (for the metro NY market), Syracuse (for the upstate NY market), Texas (because they didn't want to be left out) and Delaware State.

A friend of a friend is dating some girl that babysits for Lloyd's nephew's children, and my friend of a friend's girlfriend heard it from Lloyd's nephew himself that Lloyd will never allow Les to be our head coach.

Sorry, my friend, but your info must be incorrect.  As you can see, my sources are rock solid.

I kind of wanted to start a new thread about this but its more of a rant than a topic of discussion: The Heisman has clearly become a contest for what player (read: QB) the media hypes the most. For example, I was watching college football live today and they continue to say that Pryor is a strong Heisman candidate even though he has never really done anything except he had a pretty good Rose Bowl I guess? What happened to the player with the best numbers winning the Heisman Trophy? It makes me so salty to listen to them project who will win the Heisman next year in May. No offense to the OP but how about we wait until someone actually does something during the season?

QB on the most offensively impressive top 5 team seems to be what the Heisman's about.  tOSU brings back many offensive starters, PSU looks like they could be down, we (in the eyes of the media) have yet to prove that we can compete, McCoy gone, Tebow gone, Bradford gone all adds up to Pryor potentially putting up bigger numbers than the next best known household name.  If they start talking about him now, they'll seem smarter when he puts up big numbers early (against tomato cans).  The early hype plus big early season numbers will fuel more hype.

Even beating tOSU might not prevent this particular train (see:  Eddie George).  So, yeah, self-fulfilling prophecies can be annoying to watch in the conception, fulmination, and realization stages.

I'm not gonna sit on my hands waiting until the "early prediction" thread, but "way too early"?  C'mon man, have some common decency.  Let's all just hold on for the good ol' "too early" prediction thread . . . I mean, there could be kids reading this.  "Way too early!"  Have we gotten that impatient?

I think we split the two opening games:

Uconn L
Notre Dame W

Next two will be won although BG will make some nervous

UMass W
BG W

We go to Indiana and get a win, this time there is no controversy.

IU W

Mich St game will be close, hopefully we have a Kicker at that point.

MSU W

We shock the world and beat Iowa.  This season is starting to look real good.

Iowa W

Unfortunately a young team makes mistakes on the road.

PSU L

Ill plays us tough, but this time we have the better fast QB

ILL W

Purdue makes me nevrvous but in all honesty we are the better team (and were last year too).

PUR W

Again shock the College Football world and stick it to Wisc.  They don't expect our speed.

Wisc W

And we go into Columbus with a chance at the Rose bowl.

Pryor has 3 turnovers, and we....

probably don't win, but 9-3 is a great record, and the team looks primed for a 2011 run.  Especially with TP leaving to be a 3rd round NFL pick.

Denard Robinson is 2nd team all Big ten.  Will Campbell is Honorable mention.

With the largest shoes to fill, Will H. will be serviceable in trying to replace Zoltan. That is my bold prediction. I am not a heretic.

The first time in history Michigan whole team will be named ALL BIG TEN,when sportscaster speak of Michigan they begin with the phrase...Holy Shit!!!. After going 12-0 all those non-believers, naysayers and experts will be killing each other getting back on the wagon.RRod smiles....everything is just as it should be.

I predict David Molk will be awarded the Lombardi, Bednarik and Heisman halfway through the season, at which point he will go pro and win the NFL MVP and be inducted into the CFB and NFL Hall of Fame. His induction speech will win both a Pulitzer and an Academy Award.

Either that or he will be an above average Big 10 center.

Two Muppets

Two Henri Otters of Ennui

Tate Forcier playing quarterback, yet widespread amnesia about placing way too much emphasis on a spring game.

One "okay, we expected that" followed by a hit piece by a local paper and a week of grumbling about Detroit radio personalities trash our program.

MACrifices are properly MACrificed.

I can't give my last prediction because it is too depressing.

Spartan finds a way to annoy me.

I predict that The Knowledge will grace us with his "always right"  game forecasts.  The dude has never been wrong.  Just ask him

Hey, Knowledge, where art tho, bro?  Haven't heard from or about you in a while.  Could use a little levity, amigo.

And this board is getting reeeaalllyyyy boring.

I wasn't going to click on this thread, then I saw that so many people had commented, so I thought maybe it was better than the title suggested.

Shoulda trusted my gut.
