Major Stadium Updates Wrapping Up?

Submitted by Blazefire on

I'm a little confused. The stadium update webcam seems to show that the heavy equipment and so on is pulling out, making room for Coke trucks and the like to stock up and get the place ready. However, the big tower visible from the Crisler cam still has no windows. Everything else is done except that.

Please tell me they're going to put windows in that before the kickoff. It would at least LOOK done then, instead of, "Oh! So close!"

So, you're saying that the heavy equipment that was used to install windows is being /has been removed? There's no chance the glass can go up any other way? Just wondering.

RR said a few months ago that all the glass should be in by kickoff. They might not need some of the equipment to put in that side. Once the glass is in I suspect that all the heavy stuff will no longer be needed. I just drove by it today and they still had most of the stuff still there. It's probably just not shown on the CAM.

I assume you're referring to this shot:

I would guess that the glass installation crew can put the remaining windows in from the inside or in some other mechanically-unaided way, since the construction is allegedly on schedule and should be cosmetically finished by the beginning of this season.

The windows on the inside are all up I believe. However, no windows are up on the side facing Main St. except for on the two end towers. They will finish the brick work and install the glass on that side of the structure March '10 - July '10 because in order to do that brick work they need to close down one lane of Main St. in which they cleared the permits with the city.

This link has a good pick of what the Main St. side should look like on game day:

It look's like they are about to start installing windows (the framing is close to done). Only takes a few days for window installation I noticed.
