To anyone that was at the basketball game yesterday:
What were some of the more creative OSU/Jim Tressel chants and sayings? I wasn't able to hear the broadcast, and I figure there were some great ones.
Here are a few favorites:
TO JARED SULLINGER:
1. Shake weight, shake weight.
2. Sports bra, sports bra, sports bra
WHEN AARON CRAFT WAS SHOOTING A FT:
1. Tressel didn't know, Tressel didn't know (that pissed off the OSU "fans" in our section)
AFTER SOME oSu FANS STARTED CHANTING "JUST LIKE FOOTBALL"
1. Fire Tressel, clap, clap, clap-clap-clap, Fire Tressel (See #1 above)
2. Safety school, safety school
BUT MY FAVORITE WAS
1. Free Tatoos, free tatoos...
I though the Maize Rage was great, but they were a little less vicious that I had hoped. All in all, they did their part and there were many OSU fans who left (with a win) that were pissed off. It was great.
at the end of the game when O$U was looking like they were going to win, their student section chanted, "sell your tickets," to which the Maize Rage replied, "sell your rings!"
"I though the Maize Rage was great, but they were a little less vicious that I had hoped"
My roommate went down there with the Maize Rage, and he said they were repeatedly getting verbal warnings from the security guards and police officers to settle down. Apperently they were cheering hard against OSU (vs. Northwestern) and MSU (vs. Iowa) and the Big Ten Board didn't appreciate that at all. He actually got kicked out for the entire weekend for cursing and causing a scene (they deemed it disorderly conduct).
Sounds like somebody ordered the po-po to crack down on Michigan fans.
Heh. Tressel didn't know. I like it.
but what is the significance of "Shake Weight". All season long on tv it sounded like the Maize Rage was saying that, but I wasn't sure. I know what the shake weight is, so are you just calling the player fat?
...it can be interpreted to mean whatever you so choose.
Speaking of which, the hockey student section was amazing last night. They surprised even me, when I thought I knew what it was capable of, and I always appreciate and tell everyone about its creativity. Anyway, they sometimes chant "give me a ____" chants, spelling out words like O-R-G-Y (teamwork), A-N-A-L (come from behind), F-O-R-E-P-L-A-Y (we're gonna score!), etc.
Last night, they spelled out C-H-A-R-L-I-E-S-H-E-E-N and I thought "what is that gonna mean, free coke? hookers?" Then they said "what does that mean?"
The times I've been to the games the chant that works the best on a free throw shooter is either Rick Snyder or Shake Weight.
