Maize Out

Submitted by UMMAN83 on

Are the Sparties the only announced Maize Out?  My tickets highlight that game but not the Dedication Game.  I plan to wear maize but thought having a Maize Out for that game would be a nice touch.  Maybe it is but would appreciate the input.  Go Blue !!!!

We've tried that before.  In 2005 the student shirt was blue and there were a couple designated blue-outs.  It wasn't as visually striking as the maize outs have been.  It ended up making the crowd look like a bunch of empty seats.

There isn't really a solution to the jersey issue, but I've really liked the maize outs.  The one for the 2009 ND game looked awesome.

IIRC, the first time there was an organized effort for a "Blue Out" was for the 2002 State game, when we spanked them 49-3.  Pretty sure the first Maize Out ever was the PSU game earlier in the same season.  The Maize Out's definitely look better and have improved in participation steadily since the '02.  The ND game last year was awesome.

Go Blue.  Wear Maize.

I wondered the same thing when I got my tix in the mail...but then I realized that it doesn't matter since students almost always wear maize to games, and the "down in front" crowd would ignore a Maize-Out if they don't have maize-colored, weather appropriate clothing.

Anyway, my point is, every game is a Maize-Out IMHE.

I ordered tickets off StubHub for the UCONN game and they came in last week. My tickets look like standard event tickets, not the typical Michigan tickets I get every year. Is this normal?

Point is you get more participation from fans other than students when its printed on the ticket ... like the MSU game.  Sad but true.  Maize it is every game !!!

The mgoshirt collection could use the addition of a maize out-practice jersey style jersey.

Was thinking instead of having numbers, have BO on the front and back.

Know this is an old thread, but this is what happens Monday at work.

What you guys think?

I wear maize to every game and gladly take the heat for not wearing the consistently ugly greek life shirts. IMHE, maize jerseys are for hockey, and I don't wear my white jersey to games. I've bought maize polos for my grandparents and shirts for my dad, uncles, cousins, etc. so they have no excuse. My grandma was confused at first, but she really likes the polo so she wears it to warmer games now.
