Maize jerseys vs. Buckeyes?

Submitted by Blue boy johnson on
Would this be a good thing or a bad thing? Has the football team ever wore anything but blue at home? oops looks like this was discussed not to long ago, sorry http://mgoblog.com/content/maize-jersey-twist I guess the superstition thread got me to a thinkin, but in my usual backasswards way of doin things, I searched after I started the thread

Dammit. Hello friends, Just checking the blog on a nice Sunday evening. I notice this most interesting post about maize jerseys which would look, I imagine, something like this... http://www.michiganfansite.com/product.asp?productid=73894 I would say to that, without sounding like the 90 year old's from my section: what the hell next? perhaps we can find us some of those uniforms like Oregon with the steel plate imprint. It's Michigan, it's maize and blue alright but show me a photo of Bo with a team with maize jerseys... I rest my case. Best wishes all.

I'd hate to be one of those teams that resorts to an alternate uniform for "big" games !!!!! (cough, cough. Notre Shame in green) We have the best looking uniform in college football, and we're the winningest team in college history why mess with success !!!!!!!!!!

I like the idea that Michigan will never touch the home jerseys, but is willing to change the away ones here and there. As far as a third jersey goes, I am not completely against it at some point. But I would not want it to be something that is used for "big games" like someone said earlier. I would rather have it be an alternate that we wear once or twice a year (home or away). The only problem is that they would have to come up with something that is clearly MICHIGAN. All the images of maize jerseys I have seen look Cal, Minn, WVU, etc more than they do Michigan jerseys.

Let's put claws on our shoulder pads and sew a tail to our backsides. We should have each member of the coaching staff start training a live wolverine and race them from midfield before the OSU game. My money is on Barwis's wolverine named "Unforgiving Jones-Johnson" to win by a whiskered nose.

i wonder how many times this topic has been brought up on mgoboard and outright rejected. i feel like i see it every other week. people need to realize that maize jerseys would be the worst thing ever. once people realize this we can all read substantial material on mgoboard an return to our everyday lives.

living next door who keeps eyeing your children and has lots of concrete and construction materials delivered to his house that you never see put to use outside but he never invites you inside his house.

Yeah, and then we could also have camo jerseys and we could also wear grey pants and................WE ARE NOT OREGON (even though Mouton was confused for a play!). They have the rights to ugliest jerseys on the planet.

however, on the road, with blue pants, and against a dark-jersey home team (PSU, Ill, Iowa, Pur), it's fine. We should always wear blue jerseys and maize pants at home, and we SHOULD try to wear them on the road whenever possible (@MSU, @OSU, bowl games, etc).
