Just noticed on espn classic, for you young guys who haven't seen AC in action, about an hour of it left, tune in, ND won this game, don't be mad at me.
this week in unintentionally grim-sounding recruiting headlines
How about the year before when Michigan embarrassed the #1 ranked notre dame team in A2? I like that one better.
Yeah, no thanks. Bo losing to Jerry Faust is just plain wrong.
If you want to see Anthony Carter kick some Notre Dame ass, watch the previous year's game which we won 25-7.
Even though we lost in 1982, the Keith Jackson call on ABC is still laced with some good moments, including the one where that pass was taken on the bounce off an Irish defender (I think it was Rick Rogers, but I could be wrong) and in for a TD. Keith Jackson says something like, "Look what I found....touchdown!"
Vince Bean, perhaps.
That was the day I married Mrs. 1M1Ucla -- the reception was at the Marriott on Plymouth Road at US 23 -- kept ducking into thr bar to check the game -- still get nauseous when I think of the TD pass clanking off #26's facemask. Can't recall the dudes's name right now -- just had a couple glasses of wine with my missus (same girl, even prettier today). My dad, mom, brothers, best man & missus all M grads, all sick to death after the game, hopefully unrelated to the wedding.
I've never really forgiven ND for ruining my birthday. Still bummed about it. :(
where my wife and I moved to after getting married that same year. I used to get REALLY angry in those days after big game losses like that. But, I can't remember if I stormed out of our apartment to cool off. Too long ago. But, I loved watching AC as an undergrad, and it was too bad I missed many of his games in his last two years there.
