Also, since I didn't see it mentioned elsewhere, the women's team was 3rd at B1Gs last weekend. They have several strong underclassmen and should be in the running for the title next year.

Michigan now has 462 B1G Individual Champions in program history. 327 are individual swimming titles, 117 relay titles and 18 diving titles.

At 39 B1G Championships, as long as Mike Bottom is the coach of this team, Michigan Swim & Dive will pass Football in all-time B1G Championships despite their program beginning 26 years after Football began B1G play.

Water polo.

DB is the dumbass who fired Matt Anderson. DB was too stupid to understand how the sport works. All he saw was the black and white numbers.

No team from outside the state of CA has won the NCAA 3rd place game, much less the national championship. Michigan did a fine job of getting to the tournament and winning CWPA championships which was really all you could ask for from them.

I'm very doubtful that a team from outside CA will win a national championship in that sport. Especially a team not on the West coast. Wanna know why?

Most West coast teams have outdoor pools and play their games in aquatic stadiums. You aren't ever going to find that here. Canham is going to look like an entirely different building once the renovations are done, but it's still cold as balls in the Midwest.

UM and MSU have a great club rivalry. Hard to compete with California where they play year round and the culture is so different. But you never know. Jennie Ritter and Hutch's women did the impossible winning a softball championship.

I was hoping the US Olympic team might have some guys from Michigan. Though I see some of our top swimmers aren't from America. Nevertheless, GO Blue!

It's always nice to hear about Michigan BIG 10 championships. I don't care if it's kickball, TIC-TAC-TOE, jump roping or whatever. Put the trophy in the case, baby.

Five of M's six individual championships are courtesy of Dylan Bosch, who swims for South Africa, and Bruno Ortiz, who swims for Japan.  But the sixth, Paul Powers, is from Georgia and has already competed for the U.S. in junior international competition.  And he's only a freshman.

It's fun to root for them all internationally, even if we're the only ones who know they're sort of Americans.

PS:  We should still have former M swimmers on the next Olympic team, some of whom have already won medals.

to swim for Michigan and Coach Mike Bottom.  He's a really elite coach internationally and Michigan is greatly fortunate to have him here.  Coach B is a major candidate for the head coach for the 2016 Olympics U.S. team in Brazil.  Having him here can only be an advantage.  And personally knowing Mike, I can say he is a great person and one of the most genuine people you'll meet.  Seeing him be so successful is tremendous.  Go Blue!

In swimming. You put everything in your constitution out there on display for all the world to see and adjudge. There is no tougher sport in terms of grot and pressing for one scintilla more beyond the next competitor. Michigan has always performed well in swimming; my non-rugby and non-Sigma Chi friends were all varsity swimmers when I was an UG and today. I am very proud of Michigan Swimming and I congratulate our student-athletes for their achievements. Hail to the Victors Valiant! Hail to our Conquering Heroes! One more!

Michigan gets virtually the entire month of March to train for a return trip to Iowa City, the site of their 2015 B1G Championship.

The NCAA Championships will be held from 3/27-3/29.
