M Soocer at Maryland - NCAA Tournament Elite Eight - Sat 1pm

Submitted by jgunnip on

Arguably the biggest game in the history of our young program. Winner secures a trip to the Final Four in Santa Barbara next weekend and some major national TV face time.

A couple of articles preveiwing all the Elite 8 matchups here, (http://www.collegesoccernews.com/). North Carolina, who knocked off MSU last weeked, defeated SMU in PKs last night (their thrid staight win on PKs) and is the first time to punch their ticket.

Michigan needs to do a better job of holding possession when they get it to relieve pressure. They're looking to play too directly when Maryland has players back. Need to spread it around and move the ball outside. Defensively need to stay composed and take care of the ball under pressure...been a lot of poor clearances right at Maryland players in this game.

Having said that Meram and Saad are still huge threats and the winner is almost always a pass away
