after being intentionally walked 2.5 times yesterday. Seems legit.
That's a pitcher doing her job, right? Drill them in the posterior. Don't hurt them, and don't give up the tater.
to crack a girl in the knee this weekend. She kept swinging it over the plate (which obviously puts her foot out of the box) just before every pitch, when she got to a full count after being up on it earlier I really thought she'd do it, and apparently her catcher encouraged her to do it as well.
Romero got hit in the head on the second throw, though. It looked like Hutch had some words for the umpire after that.
The call they never get is when a body part gets hit in the strike zone. It is not safe to give up the inside to the batter. Sometimes the only thing to do is to be "effectively wild".
Absolute satisfaction that the northwestern football players in the stands are silent now after Michigan has taken the lead back. Chanting "overrated".
Even though Michigan has won 6 straight B1G titles and won 16-1 yesterday.....if that's overrated, I'll take it!
Do you know why the Nothewestern football players are there??
NW students know how to have a good time: come to A2
Score? Game over?
9-3 W.
Congrats to the Wolverine SB team!
The B1G playoffs are almost set. If Nebraska beats Penn State tomorrow, the teams will be seeded #2 Nebraska, #3 Minnesota, #4 Wisconsin. If Penn State upsets Nebraska, the teams will be seeded #2 Minnesota, #3 Wisconsin, #4 Nebraska.
Friday's quarterfinals, all times Eastern:
#4 v (#5 Northwestern or #12 Indiana), 12:30
#1 Michigan v (#8 Ohio State or #9 Iowa), 3:00
#3 v (#6 Illinois or #11 Penn State), 5:30
#2 v (#7 Michigan State or #10 Purdue), 8:00
If Michigan is not upset on Friday, they will likely have a tough matchup against Wisconsin or Nebraska on Saturday in the semifinals. I think Wisconsin and host team Nebraska are Michigan's toughest challengers for the title.
The semis and the finals will be broadcast on BTN--Michigan's semifinal (if they advance) is 3 pm EDT Saturday and the Big Ten Championship game is at 1 pm on Sunday.
Tailgating in the Gray Lot is a lot of fun. I dont understand why Brandon schedules baseball and softball on the same day. Thankfully we arrived early and was set up before the mad dash.
I took my ball team down and we were in SEC 8; directly behind the NWU football players. They were loud but respectful. They even started their version of GO......BLUE from section to section. Some of our fans were angry but it was all in good fun.
The only time I took offense was everytime Romo was up, they sang OVERRATED clap, clap, clap-clap, clap. I leaned forward and told one of the players, "your entire football team has been over-rated for years. Wait until this fall when we overtake Ryan Field again and we sign The Victors." He looked at me and said "Yea, I know"
One of the older adults (position coach maybe) was there and told me that NWU started the "Bump, bump bump-bump bump: Lets Go Cats song. I laughed and told him that it is Copyrighted by the University of Michigan and was written by former UM students in the 1970s. He said "Really?, I thought we were the first"
The NWU pitcher was cracking a smile when she hit Romo both times. The Pitcher thought she was being cute. I caught it on film. I thought Hutch was going to chock the Umpire. Caitlyn and Ashley made her pay because they hit dingers after both of Romo's HBP.
Sara did a good, not great job today. Typically Sara has a bad first inning but today she struggled in the 2nd too.
Wolverines Trooper was at the game as well. He was a big hit. He even caught the NWU home run out in RF but dropped it for the error. I did not see but did he get a shout out from the TV Crew?
