The SB Team were singing the Bee Gee's "Stayin' Alive" as they kept the bats alive today in the USF Tourney in Tampa Fla. They connected with 14 hits in a 10-2 mercy-rule rout of Florida Atlantic in 5 innings.
Freshman Sierra Romero connected on the biggest hit, by delivering a grand slam in the 4th inning. It was only her second hit of her career and her first home run. This young lady is going to be fun to watch the next 4 years. Welcome to Michigan Sierra, we hope you dont get too discouraged by the cold and snow.
Junior Taylor Hasselbach garnered 3 hits with an RBI and a run scored. She is representing the Clarkston Wolves very nicely. Senior Amy Knapp and Junior Lyndsay Doyle both had 2 hits and 1 RBIs apiece.
Sara Driesenga was the winning pitcher. She pitched 3.1 Innings; gave up 0 ER, 0 hits, 1 BB and 0 Ks. Stephanie Spiererman came on in relief and gave up 2 runs (both unearned) on 1 hit. She had 1 K and 1 BB.
I would like to introduce Freshman Pitcher Alice Fitzpatrick. She HAILS from Union Grove High School in Kansasville, Wisconsin. Alice closed out the game by facing 2 batters (striking out 1). Welcome to the Michigan Family, Alice. We are happy to have you here in A2. We hope you have great success on the field and more importantly, in the classroom.
