I read your post really fast and thought it said the game was on Versus. Learned the hard way bullriding is actually on now.  Ugh... wishful thinking.

Michigan should be able to win out the regular season and through the CCLA playoffs (knock on wood).  Michigan plays Mizzou next weekend and then MSU the following and rap up the season @ Toledo.  MSU is really the only team with a achance to pull the upset.

Mizzou is 9-1 but have played only one ranked team (Illinois) and lost.  MSU is 5-2 and have some great wins against ranked teams but they have struggled with some of these teams, team that Michigan has blown out of the water.  Toledo is 2-5 and is brand new to MCLA and will not poise a threat to Michigan (they were an NCLL team the past few seasons).

Like i said, Michigan should run through the rest of the season and CCLA playoffs and be ranked the #1 seed in the MCLA tourney.  Hell even if they don't win the CCLA tourney they should still be the #1 seed.

Given how MSU has played against common competition the last 3 games, I'm not even sure they should be as much trouble as I had originally thought. Arizona State is going to beat them by 40 tomorrow.

Saw Dave Brandon at the game; good to see he visits the club level sports as well.  Although I don't know if lacrosse going D1 was a factor in his attendence.

Brandon was there the whole game.  I was standing near him the second half.  Immediately after the game he went to straight to Coach Paul to congratulate him and they spoke for a minute.

I thought Michigan looked a little tired tonight.  They came out flying, but ASU had fresher legs late.  Would make sense since ASU didn't play yesterday and UM played the #2 team in the nation.  ASU had three amazing players, and they all stepped up.  Plus Michigan hit a ton of pipes.  Misses are misses, but they were getting good shots in the second half and were centimeters from putting quite a few of those in.  If they had shot a little better, this game wasn't close even with all the things ASU did well.

I was like 80% certain Brandon left at halftime, but whateva.

As for the pipes, Michigan probably hit (no exaggeration) 15 pipes tonight, including some in the first half. If a couple of those are half an inch in one direction, this game is no contest.

Cue Mighty Ducks "half an inch the other way..."

Deker's banquet was a lunch.  Got my invite, but didn't go.  Seriously, he was at the lacrosse game until the end.  (Not obsessed with this - but I think it is evidence of his commitment to lacrosse to be there for entire games two weeks in a row).

Arizona state really tightened up on D and stalemated michigans dodge and redodge. Seemed like ASU didnt really drop a 3 slide to the back pipe, so they were able to recover quickly and cover both sides well. They also did a nice job against the 10 man that second half, really not turning it over much and generating a number of scoring opportunities when they broke it. I was impressed with the hustle on ground balls and with greiner. Won a lot of clamps and seemed like a vocal leader.

It was definitely a tale of two halves. Michigan's 10-man was unbeatable in the first half (I would estimate the Sun Devils were clearing at maybe 3/11ish), whereas in the second half, ASU was much more comfortable facing it - a credit to their coaching - and even broke it for 2 empty-netters.

Fortunately, based on this game, I think Michigan would win 8 out of 10 contests against the Sun Devils on a neutral field. They played one good half and one very bad half, and still came out on top of the only MCLA team that seems even remotely close to their overall quality as a team.
