M Lax closes reg. season with 19-10 thumping of Robert Morris

As I'm waiting in between games here for the Women to start, the Men's lacrosse team finally got a win to end the losing skid.

Michigan pasted Robert Morris 19-10. RMU got many of their goals late against Michigan reserves. Halftime score was 12-4.

Today was a record setting performance all the way around.

  • Kyle Jackson sets the single game record for goals with 5
  • Kyle Jackson, Ian King and Thomas Paras all registered hat tricks
  • Michigan scored their second-most goals in program history at 19
  • Michigan set the team record for shots in a game with 64

Due to Fairfield beating the buckeyes today, Michigan will face Fairfield on Thursday in the ECAC Tournament Semifinals in columbus.

Two wins from the NCAA Tournament in their 3rd year of play.

The tiebreaker is RPI, and prior to beating ohio state today, Fairfield had a slight advantage over OSU. That should likely hold, but maybe isn't a sure thing yet. Great overall game today by Michigan, but RMU looked like they didn't show up. Just saw no urgency and really they never threatened. Although credit to Michigan for putting them down quick and not allowing them to make a run. Great way to send out the seniors and have some confidence going into the Fairfield game.
