M-Lax 8-0
Michigan beat Boston College 14-7 tonight. This game seemed to be closer than the score indicated as BC outshot Michigan 40-34 and dominated faceoffs BC winning 16 of 24.
I guess none of this matters as it is still a win. Tomorrow night is a huge game against UC-Santa Barara who is currently 6-3 and ranked 10th in the MCLA. They lost to Michigan State Thursday night 10-11 so they should be pissed off and at least hoping to get one win out of this "Midwest" trip.
It's nights like tonight that I am thankfully we play indoors. I was outside for a high school game tonight and I still cant feel my toes.
Does BC have a really good facer or was this just an off night?
Not sure about a faceoff specialist not a lot of info about BC lax out there. Maybe Tim can answer this if he attended the game tonight.
I've got a 12 year old Lax player who needs some

we dont usually get outplayed like that right?
Getting outshot doesn't mean they got outplayed. They did win 14-7 after all, which is a pretty lopsided score. First and fourth quarters were 5-1 and the second and third were pretty much even. They got outshot 17-5 (according to boxscore) in the 2nd, and only lost the quarter 3-2. I'm assuming that was because they had a string of penalties so BC had the ball most of the quarter, much of it with a man advantage.
Faceoffs were a concern going into the season. The team was at about 65% for the year, which is really good, but this is the second time this season they've been below 50% in a game (Chapman was the other). When they go against really good faceoff guys, they are going to struggle there. So far they've been able to overcome that.
That's a troubling statistic but judging from the score they were obviously not great shots. That is probably a product of the defense forcing BC into tough, contested shots. In lacrosse there are several times where giving up a shot is not necessarily a bad thing. I haven't seen them play but M's defense is supposed to be superb.
Also - if you haven't already checked this out its a great article on Michigan lacrosse and Coach Paul from the Detroit News. I don't think anyone's posted it yet but definitely a great read...
