M Lacrosse to play Buckeyes @ Big House before 2012 Spring Game

If we were able to fill the Big House up to max capacity I would say that this would be the most epic game of lacrosse ever.

The spring game can't even fill the Big House. I can't see lacrosse adding that many more people but it would definitely be amazing if the stadium was packed. Heck, even 50,000 for a lax game would be cool.

Ha, I fully understand that there is no chance the Big House would be filled for that. I was just throwing out an idealistic notion that maybe interest in lacrosse could approach that of football.

Interesting that this news is being broken by a third party website... I looked for confirmation on both the official U of M and OSU web sites but there's nothing posted. The only other thing I can find is a quote from a Sbnation article back in May saying "Dave Brandon threw out the idea of playing a game on the same day as the spring football game to attract more fans". So, I wonder if this is a confirmed thing or more like a "wouldn't this be awesome?" idea that's being tossed around.
Anyhow, if true, it will be kickass. Sounds like a good way to spend my birthday.
EDIT: Nevermind, here we go:

"Another highlight of the Wolverines' inaugural season will be a home contest against Ohio State in Michigan Stadium on April 14 before the annual Football Spring Game. Combined with Oosterbaan Field House and the U-M Soccer Stadium, the "Big House" will host a number of games in the coming years."

no football alumni flag football game?
Cool thing for Lax though.

This is going to be fun. I hope they continue to hold the alumni flag football game as well.

but I feel like it's at least a year premature. I think playing a lax game prior to the spring game is a great way to spur interest in the newly varsity program, but I believe that scheduling a legitimately good squad who happens to be a bitter rival (or a bitter rival who happens to be a legitimately good squad) is asking for a deflating preview to the spring game.
