I guess we're still good at putting the basketball in the ol' peach basket. Time to get over Booker and if needed Blackmon. We didn't need a team full of five star guys to get to Atlanta, so we won't need it going forward...though it wouldn't hurt to have them.
M Hoops: Preseason #7 (AP)
Don't need 5-stars when you have short little white boys who can drop 17 in one half of a NC game.
We're not exactly hurting for future NBA players, though.
Except that we have three 5-stars and several 4-stars in the regualr rotation....and one small white guy
But lets stay there. Pumped for this season and over Booker and Blackmon for sure. Don't want the kind of program UK has anyway with one and dones
Yes. Two years out of a good player is definitely better than one. And frankly, as a fan it's more interesting to cheer for guys you've gotten to know instead of having a totally new lineup every season.
We got replacements for the loss of Robinson I was just hopn we would get another big man to replace McGary. Other than those 2 the only other player i see leaving next season would b Morgan cause he's a senior but I don't think he'll b a huge loss with the depth we have at the 4 and 5 position. Move on to 2015 that class will be far more important
I'd love to get Booker and Blackmon, but Beilein has proven to be a master talent evaluator. Look at what we've gotten in guys like LeVert and Albrecht. Neither of them were highly recruited, and both have become effective contributors that can play with anyone. Burke wasn't very highly recruited either, and then Beilein only turned him into the best player in America.
The point is that even though 5-star talent like GRIII and McGary is always great to have, we don't necessarily need it to get back to the Final Four. We're in great hands.
But he was also one of the first to talk to Booker. Everyone else just saw him quickly enough to get involved, unlike Levert or even GRIII.
Duke being #4 is a joke. They'd hammer Staee and will probably do the same to Kansas. No telling how good or bad UK will be, like last year.
Maybe by the end of the year Duke would kill State - big maybe - but they have many more question marks starting the season than State does. I'd say the ranking is as accurate as a preseason ranking could be.
Last year, Duke had more question marks. Who would be the #1 PG, would Curry's foot hold up, etc. This season, the only question is who's going to start at center. The feeling I get is Plumlee. He's huge, he athletic, and he's finally healthy. Just because Staee piss all over the sorry B1G doesn't mean a team with genuine talent won't twat them.
The same team with an actual post presence couldn't beat an unathletic Duke team who's best player had a bad wheel last year. I sure as hell don't fear them like most of you do. Appling is average, Harris is frail, Dawson is unbelievably poor and their cavalcade of mediocrity in the middle means they're no threat to a team with a good big man.
USA Today had a nice comparison of the full AP and Coaches polls. I have pasted it below. Michigan was ninth in the Coaches Poll.

Should we be worried about the 2014 class?
because the foundation has already been laid since their freshman year when Michigan was decent, not elite. The real class that Michigan will finally put their stamp on is 2015 and 2016 where they can capitalize their NC run.
Michigan got Chatman, Wilson, Doyle and Hatch. Chatman is the crown jewel of the class. They would love to get Booker/Blackmon but they didn't need them because of the future upperclassmen like Nik and Caris.
