Please win tonight... That is all.
December 4th, 2010 at 1:37 AM ^
Yes we lost tonight but congrats to the mich couple that got engaged tonight. Very suprised that the arena gave him the mic to propose and that michigan fans got osu fans to team up to help in the proposal. Def one of the cooler things that I have seen in the rivalary.
December 3rd, 2010 at 7:33 PM ^
please play like it.
December 3rd, 2010 at 7:36 PM ^
Hoping but doubting. Thanks.

December 3rd, 2010 at 7:43 PM ^
win in Columbus...say 37 - 7 or so.
December 3rd, 2010 at 7:48 PM ^
it might not count...Lynch seemed to kick it from the side of the net...it may have went off the goalie or an OSU defenseman....Haglin might also have hit it over the line
Edit: no goal...it seemed like a good call, lynch used a kicking motion and was the last M player to touch it and you cannot bank it in off the goalie with a kicking motion...
December 3rd, 2010 at 7:51 PM ^
I understand the rule and it was probably the right call as a no goal with the rule, but I cant say I agree. i mean you can have an own goal in any sport and the michigan skate that got the kick was behind the end line and then the osu goalie knocked it in with his own glove. I think there should be some kind of change to that rule. The michigan player was just trying to get it to the net and had the osu goalie not touched it Haglin would have taped it in
December 3rd, 2010 at 7:58 PM ^
If the OSU player or goalie had control of the puck. If the goalie had control and then it went in, it would be considered a goal. However, since it just banked in off him, it is still in the action of the kicking player...therefore the kicking motion is what put it in. Thats why is a shot deflects off a player's skate without the kicking motion, it counts because it was off the shot of the player and just got deflected, not under control and kicked in
If that makes sense good, if not im not really surprised
December 3rd, 2010 at 8:02 PM ^
It makes perfect sense and Im saying with the rules in place its the right call. I just dont agree with the rule in this case. From my eyes anyway it didnt appear to be a deflection to me off the osu goalie, but instead the puck trickling into the crease and the goalie attempting to cover the puck and ended up knocking it in himself while trying to cover.
December 3rd, 2010 at 8:18 PM ^
yeah, hockey is full of questionable rules...It probably should be different
December 3rd, 2010 at 8:18 PM ^
Aaron Ward agreed with me haha
December 3rd, 2010 at 7:58 PM ^
on how you define "kicking", it's a good call, I thought he twisted his foot to angle it to angle the puck in. I think that if that doesn't count, you can't really count any goals off the skate unless they're completely stationary and the whole they're on ice thing pretty much precludes that.
That being said, that's how it would have been called in the NHL too, so I can't really complain, other than I think a distinct kick means a distinct kick and that the rule should be either they all count off a skate or none count off a skate.
What's going to make Red really unahppy is the conference the ref's had between the replay and the call. That's not normal and I don't know if I've ever seen that done where it didn't result in a call that I STRONGLY disagreed with, before today.
December 3rd, 2010 at 7:48 PM ^
Let the screw job begin
December 3rd, 2010 at 7:54 PM ^
If the goalie's glove is the thing that deflected it into the goal why isn't that a goal?
edit: rules
December 3rd, 2010 at 7:49 PM ^
Never really understood the point of the kicking motion rule.
December 3rd, 2010 at 7:51 PM ^
Who cares if you kick it into the net? Most of the time it's still easier to use your stick I'd figure
December 3rd, 2010 at 8:00 PM ^
Actually most of the time you have a chance to kick it and actually put it in, you're within 3 feet of the goal. When you're there there's usually a d-man beating the shit out of you or at least getting your hands up and stick off the ice.
I agree with the rule, hard to really get much better beyond calling back goals with a kicking motion but allowing accidental pucks off the foot.

December 3rd, 2010 at 8:00 PM ^
the announcers are TERRIBLE....
However, kudos to them for hiring Aaron Ward for the studio...he is a pretty good analyst.
December 3rd, 2010 at 8:03 PM ^
isn't boytoy in his 7th year? i feel like hes been around for forever
December 3rd, 2010 at 8:09 PM ^
I'm pretty sure we've been mocking him for at least that long..
December 3rd, 2010 at 8:05 PM ^
Im pleasantly surprised with Scooters play this year. He has not only been very physical but putting in tough and skilled goals. Looks like he has been huge strides this offseason. Could really benefit us this year
December 3rd, 2010 at 8:10 PM ^
Pretty much sums up your comment nicely.
December 3rd, 2010 at 8:12 PM ^
The last few games it seems we've done a little better. But the games at Yost it certainly didn't seem like we were on the powerplay when we had one. Hopefully we can pick it up...
December 3rd, 2010 at 8:13 PM ^
Any time now refs.
December 3rd, 2010 at 8:13 PM ^
carl hagelin nearly had an awesome goal. off the outside of the post
December 3rd, 2010 at 8:15 PM ^
Still 0-0
December 3rd, 2010 at 8:16 PM ^
We dominated the first we just need to stick one in the back of the net now....I like how they didnt properly fix the net too until the end of our PP
December 3rd, 2010 at 8:20 PM ^
Must beat osu in something. Go Blue!
December 3rd, 2010 at 8:23 PM ^
in everything!
December 3rd, 2010 at 8:26 PM ^
For everyone outside SE Michigan but with the B10 network: Wouldn't this be awesome if they had all of the season like this?
December 3rd, 2010 at 8:40 PM ^
dont tease me
December 3rd, 2010 at 8:38 PM ^
Oh man those uniforms are ugly. I'll even take the Bluejackets uniforms over those.
December 3rd, 2010 at 8:46 PM ^
It is become a tradition for Ohio State to wear ugly uniforms against Michigan. These ones could definitely give Oregon a run for worst looking college uniforms.
December 3rd, 2010 at 9:15 PM ^
What's wrong with the Blue Jackets' uniforms?
December 3rd, 2010 at 8:39 PM ^
Were gettin closer
December 3rd, 2010 at 8:42 PM ^
They need to capitalize on these chances
December 3rd, 2010 at 8:43 PM ^
of course
December 3rd, 2010 at 8:44 PM ^
A disgustingly bad goal given up by Hunwick on a terrible angle....ouergbiuebgikh
December 3rd, 2010 at 8:45 PM ^
horseshit. Need more scotch.
December 3rd, 2010 at 8:47 PM ^
PP goal! Scotch was the answer!
December 3rd, 2010 at 8:45 PM ^
I need to reiterate for you how absolutely horrendous that goal given up was. Wow. Finally our team isn't playing so badly and we give up that...
December 3rd, 2010 at 8:45 PM ^
If they win on that shit Ill be soooo pissed. Come on boys PP. Lets get one
December 3rd, 2010 at 8:50 PM ^
Realized this is a much better place to discuss:
Saw that coming. 1) the commentators talking about how Michigan was dominating 2) whenever we're dominating but not getting the puck in, they always get a goal on their first try 3) THAT WAS A HIGH STICK IN THE NEUTRAL ZONE AND I KNEW IT WOULD RESULT IN A GOAL. FUCK IT.
I hate these commentators SO MUCH. "Wow the buckeye penalty kill is soo good!" because they can't get the puck out and their goalie made a few lucky saves? Ok then.
"Michigan is dominating hurr" wow thanks, they just scored on us.
December 3rd, 2010 at 8:46 PM ^
dominate posession. don't score goals. let up easy goals
December 3rd, 2010 at 8:46 PM ^
Fuckin' A Hunwick, I could have saved that. And I don't even skate.
Okay, maybe not.
December 3rd, 2010 at 8:47 PM ^
HA! Got it back on an equally bad goal.
