Just when things couldn't get any worse on defense, Michigan loses it's top defenseman and freshman to the USA World Championships. Great. Spectacular.
will be michigan's highest pick in a while
Is Merrill actually playing in the Worlds? Or is he just an honorary selection
If you're doing nothing, how do you know when you're finished?
At least the GLI doesn't count in CCHA standings. Most important thing right now is racking up wins in the conference.
It may be bad for Michigan hockey right now, but it's a great opportunity for Trouba and he should benefit from the experience. Hopefully, he can come back to Ann Arbor stronger.
Avatar is a reference to this. Go Blue!
but it continues to be good for the long term. I'd rather have some of our best players out in the World Juniors where they represent Michigan Hockey to more eyes than Michigan Hockey normally ever sees since it's only for 2 games.
This was not unexpected. The best players go the World Junior Championship every year.
