M Field Hockey Live Stream

Submitted by M Ascending on

For those of you interested in watching the Michigan field hockey team's final four semifinal today,  the NCAA Sports app advertises that it will be live streaming both games.

4 UNC v. 1 UConn at 2 p.m.

Maryland vs. 3 Michigan at 4:45  (Maryland was unseeded in the tourney but ranked 11 in the last poll.)

Caveat:  The app also says,  "Stay tuned.  Box Scores and Play by Play will be available once event starts."   I'm hoping that will be in addition to the live stream, and doesn't mean that we will only be getting play by play reports instead of a live video stream.  In any event, this appears to be the only place to get any live feedback.  So, tune in and Go Blue.

Incidentally, our women have a real shot at a national title here.  They have beaten both North Carolina (3-2) and Maryland (3-2, in 2 OT), and lost early in the season 2-1 to undefeated UConn.  Michigan has a 21-2 record, is working on an 18-game winning streak, and has recorded shutouts in its last 6 straight games.

Are these games played at neutral sites? Or is there some form of home-field advantage for the higher seed?

Congrats on a great season. Can't say I understand a lot about the sport, but they worked hard and almost got there.

Interesting tweets from the UM account:

"Michigan puts a shot on goal after working the ball to the center of the circle, good chance there. Wolverines want a referral, looking for a foot and another corner... Michigan loses its referral. Guada wins the subsequent bully and Wolverines retain some pressure inside Terp territory."
