LZ Granderson: Michigan Fan?
Here's what LZ had to say on ESPN.
http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/commentary/news/story?page=granderson/09…
I guess we should have fired RR two weeks ago so we could have gone after Kelly...or Harbaugh?
He ends it with this beauty, "It makes you wonder if anybody lives in the moment anymore?"
Stay Classy LZ.

I read this about an hour ago, and it kind of bothered me. I think this could be the start of RR getting the Charlie Weis treatment from ESPN for next year.

Who the hell is LZ Granderson?
Also thought it weird that he works for ESPN yet his email is lzgranderson@yahoo.com.

He writes columns for ESPN's Page 2. He also makes occasional appearances on 1st and 10 to debate Skip Bayless.

At this point, he's got to be one of the longest tenured writers on Page 2. He came out 5ish years ago, so he's often their go-to guy on gay athletes when related issues come up. Had one article on Amaechi I remember reading a couple years ago.
Just googled it: http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=granderson/070207. Forgot he kind of called out closeted athletes there.

One of his opinion columns for CNN some months ago touched on that. Went to DPS.

His final sentence is fucking stupid. Why not fire a coach after each loss?
December 11th, 2009 at 1:07 AM ^
"Actually, given that this year's wins against Notre Dame and Indiana came within the closing minutes, the 5-7 Wolverines could easily have repeated last season's dismal record."
Gotta love how he fails to mention the Overtime loss to michigan state, and the loss to bcs bound Iowa by 2.

My thoughts exactly. I believe we had 5 losses each by 7 points or less, and he brings up the two big losses.
There's no objectivity in journalism anymore. Granted, this is more a column or an editorial, but still.
I'll stick to blogs for coverage. :)

with LZ Granderson for his article, and I can say that he came across as a pretty nice, honest guy (and a Michigan fan as well). I don't think that his article was off-base in any way, shape, or form. He is asking the question that I am sure a lot of Michigan fans are asking. Each fan is entitled to his opinion.

Maybe that's when his next column was supposed to be published, but come on, pick a new topic. His opinion would be great and relevant if it was something new and unheard of.
