Lunardi (ESPN) has Michigan a 7 seed.
Keep winning and keep moving up in seeding. 7 might be the ceiling, but the B1G Championship would be a nice cherry on top, especially for Walton and Irvin. Go Blue!

Lunardi's updated bracket has M as a 6-seed as of tonight. Swapped places with Minnesota.
He had us as a 7 seed before todays game started.
Was going to say the same thing.
This win may get us to a 6, although I personally still think we need one more.
Getting on the 6 line also gets us away from playing #2 in the 2nd round and I think there's a drop-off after that 2-seed line. WIN BOYS, WIN!
Well, not only did he have UM as a 7, but he had them in a region with Minnesota as the 6. The win would have to make that discussion that much tighter now, no? A win tomorrow? Fuhgeddaboutit.
before our game ends. One spot will be for the winner of our game, another for the loser. All they will do after the game is fill in those names. I don't think we'll see them moving more teams around just to adjust for a 5, 6 or 7 seed.
They might just ignore it altogether though if they think Wisco should be ahead of us even if they lose.
Do I hear a six?
Where'd you see that? Is there a link or was it during a broadcast?
That's not what he said. 1-4 seeds were pretty clear this year vs prior years, in so many words. 5-10 seeds were where the committee has a lot of work.
Palm has us as the top 8th seed, again before the win. We should move up a touch on both after today. I think it's safe to say we've locked in at least a 7 now.
As does Palm
that which you are offering for sale.
Do I hear a six?
Really want the six. If we avoid UCLA and maybe Arizona, gives us our best shot at the second weekend.
right now we are scarier than the 1's or the 2's
a 3 after losing last night. I wouldn't mind seeing them though. So still want a six. Between Kentucky, Duke, and two of Oregon, Louisville and Arizona, I think the 2s are tougher matchups than even the 1s.
UCLA is us but full of McDonald's All-Americans and a much worse game coach. I'd much rather see a team with a style that contrasts with ours.

An us that plays some defense and actually works hard. UCLA is kind of lazy and actually not that athletic either (they're very skilled but not athletic). We'll get a ton of open shots and will just have to knock them down. And their coach is bad. So yes, they may be more talented, but which 2 or 3 seed isn't? They're definitely one of the preferred matchups on those lines.
The style of team that we have the most difficult time with is a team that can defend the perimeter really well and get to the hole through dribble penetration. At least UCLA doesn't defend the perimeter well. Duke, Arizona, Louisville, and Kentucky are all worse matchups because they do both well, are also very talented, and far better coached than UCLA.
The team we really want is Oregon after Boucher tore his ACL last night. Whomever is getting them in their side of the bracket is getting a gift. I'd also take Baylor and FSU out of the teams on the 2/3 line. Those three teams are preferred to UCLA, but the previously mentioned four are the worst matchups for us.
but with a couple upsets in other tournaments, I think we get a 6-seed by winning tomorrow.
I don't even know that we need upsets. WVU over Iowa St. and Nova over Creighton are both very likely today.
NW over Wisconsin would help, but beating Wisconsin in the final might help even more.
If we win tomorrow, I don't see how Minnesota or Wisconsin could stay ahead of us. I think we'd also move ahead of SMU, Maryland and St. Mary's on the S-curve. Then it wouldn't even matter if Creighton and/or Iowa State lost because there's enough room for all of us as 6s.
And if they BOTH lost, we'd have an outside shot at a 5 seed.
a sigh of relief lol
We were a 7 on the bracket matrix this morning, so 6 seems reasonable with the win today. Wisconsin and Maryland are two of the three teams right above us, and minnesota was a 5.
Let that settle in. Only losses are the the gut-wrenching Northwestern loss and the foul-fest against Minny. Both "quality" losses. No one wants a piece of us. We dangerous. 5 seed
I don't recall how much the comittee chair has a say in the seeds but does anything think that Mark Hollis is going to try and screw as much as possible with putting them as far West as possible and playing as an 8 or 9 seed?
National Championship
Admit it, you love being that guy.
Well, we are playing for a Big Ten Championship.
we should already be a 6 playing for a 5 IMO. I know it won't happen but we're 12-2 since February and Big Ten champs with a win tomorrow.
in the second round (6*4-1), Michigan would surely be one of them.
This team deserves to be playing in a Regional.
similar to msu in 2014,where they were seeded 6th in the East. With a win an a couple of losses...who knows.
The next year, they were a 7.
In his most up-to-date projections, @ESPNLunardi has moved Michigan up to a No. 6 seed in the NCAA Tournament. Michigan State remains a 10.
