LSU offered Class of 2017 Dylan Moses
LSU offered a kid this week who just finished the 7th grade. Whoa Les.
My son will be 10 during this kid's senior season if he redshirts. We're currently planning his first birthday.
Can you blame Les? He's just getting ahead of the curve!
sooner or later there will be regulations around this. Since it is not committable they should just change the name. Rename it from an "offer" to a "statement of interest" or something suitably boring.
Isn't committable status up to the program? If he pledges now and both parties honor that throughout the years up to signing day 2017, that's a valid commitment, is it not?
got to lock you into this
Honestly contacting a kid, that isn't even in high school yet, is absurd.
What could possibly go wrong?
At the rate Hoke is recruiting, U-M might be scouting middle schoolers soon.
No PSU jokes, please.
I got my first offer today. It was from NWOSU. Never heard of it? Me either until last week. Brady Hoke should come knocking on my door any day now.
Oooook....
" He stands 6'0, weighs 218 pounds ... and reportedly ran a sub-4.5 40-yard dash." - from the article
I am almost three times this kid's age, and am shorter and weight less. Yikes. Still, making an offer to someone who has yet to play high school ball seems more than a little bizarre to me. Does Les really think that he needs to think that far ahead?
Seems crazy and feels illegal, but my guess is that the NCAA doesn't have rules for taking to the Justin Bieber set
It at first appears as though it's a stupid move, but when you really think about it, it's kinda smart. The kid is probably not even 14, weighs 218 pounds, and runs a 4.5 40. The chances of this kid becoming a very good prospect, if not elite, are very high. He's probably a kid you'll wish you hope to have a good relationship years down the road. This offer virtually guarantees that he'll be watching LSU football and keeping tabs on it for the next while. Best case scenario, this kid ends up being a top prospect and his ties to LSU help to land him. Worst case, the kid turns out to be nothing special and LSU stops having contact with him.
Kid verbally commits and Miles gets egg on the face when he revokes it. Or his star falls and he takes up a roster spot. Actually then they will just grey shirt him and the egg on the face doesn't matter anyways.
Holy Moses Les!
He would, providing he plays a 4th year, be in the class of 2021. And how can he be projected at any position right now? The kid could grow to 7' in the next 5(!) years
He checked in at 6 foot; 205 lbs; he actually ran a 4.46 forty yd dash; his vertical was 34 inches; his broad jump was 9 feet 3 inches; during 7on 7 drills he defended some of the best receivers in the region...
Is Sandusky out of jail already and recruiting for LSU?
that shi-cray
Is almost 20 pounds and can drain a boob in about 5 minutes. Why you not offer Mr. Miles?!?????!!?
this is insane.
beyond the measurables already posted, fwiw, the kid doesn't look that young.
Dude looks like hes 30
Sheesh... He is the football version of Greg Oden...
What are his parents feeding this kid?
rrrrroids...
/s?
Kid's an animal!1one!
My guess on the boy is he's been held back a grade somewhere along the line. Most likely he is 14 already.
I've coached middle school
Football. I've seen plenty of 6' 8th graders and 200 pounders most of which are fat lineman. What separate this kid is his speed if it's truly what it's reported. 4.5 fortys in 8th grade is very rare.
Basically he has matured faster than everyone in his age group. And he's been given extreme god given size, speed, and ability.
Ok Les. That's either creepy, or dumb. Either way its pointless. "I heard a rumor an NFL stars wife is pregnant, offer them a scholarship, his dad has elite speed!"
