Clemson was just begging to give this one away but terrible playcaling by Louisville did them in. That slot WR was getting open on every play why stop throwing to him?

It always puzzles me when a team, like Louisville, marches down the field using short passes and then when they are near the red zone they change their play calling completely and fail to score even a field goal.

We've got 90 seconds yet - this is an eternity in which to Clemson.
Dabo Swinney can never rest easy, especially early in the season and usually when they are ranked. I almost feel sorry for him in that regard.
....and then Louisville has to wish for the Supreme Clemson after that, assuming the spot stands.

If you're going to get lined up and start checking to a Hail Mary and take 15 seconds...
You should've just spiked the ball after the sack and got organized. Either a long FG or an organized hail mary.

I think the sack took them out of FG range but I agree they should have spiked it to set up a final play or was it 4th down?

"in range" line...but it was only like 4 yards. Usually that's just some kind of average. So yea, they may not have felt great about the FG attempt, but it probably wasn't even a career long at that point.
Regardless...if it's one last play, at least let it be organized and set up something where you have more than one WR in the area.
