Louisville 2014 signee arrested after impregnating his 14-year-old cousin

Submitted by Leaders And Best on

Louisville 2014 signee Sharieff Rhaheed was arrested and charged with lewd lascivious behavior with his 14 year old cousin after DNA tests on the aborted fetus showed 99.9% DNA match. The investigation had been going since October so I don't how any school could have pursued him last month. The family knew about the investigation in November when he and his mother refused to submit for DNA test until warrant was served at his high school. Louisville got a good one in Bobby Petrino. On another note, his other main suitors and finalists: Mark Dantonio, Gary Pinkel, and Bret Bielema. I am not surprised at all.

That map seems like it's backwards, right? They can marry in NY and MA, but not in WV? It makes more sense when you change the key. All grey states represent "states who have needed to put a law on the books making it illegal to marry your cousin." Now it makes sense.

I'll explain. You posted a link saying it's not legal to marry your cousin in WV. Wahoo then used an analogy. In states where same sex marriage is illegal, there are still people having same-sex sex, implying that your law doesn't mean there aren't cousins porking.

He was insinuating that sexual inclinations are not dictated by marriage law.  In other words, just because you are in an area where you can't legally marry someone, it doesn't mean the doing the dirty on the DL will not be did, ya dig?

The "joke", such as it is, is the implication that West Virginia is so backwards that first-cousin relationships are the norm, or at least unusually widely socially accepted. The fact that first-cousin marriages are not legal would imply that there is strong social opposition to the relationships, and the fact that they are legal in many other states suggests that West Virginia is not particularly permissive compared to the rest of the country.

Ergo, if you're attempting to make a joke about "all in the family" sexual relations (which is a bit gross considering the context here), West Virginia is a poor choice for a state stereotype.

I disagree with your line of reasoning. Just because WV has a law on the books and another state doesn't, doesn't mean that the states without the law are OK with it happening. It's more likely that states like NY or CA don't have the law because it isn't an issue, but in WV it is so it needed to be legislated. To use an extreme example, if fucking a car's gas tank became a problem in, say, Ohio, that state might put a law on the books making it illegal to fuck another person's gas tank. That doesn't mean that every state without that law is totally down with gas tank fucking. It means their citizens aren't stupid enough to require that law.

It doesn't mean that the states without a law on the books are OK with it happening. But it does strongly imply that the state WITH the law on the books is NOT OK with it happening. Something can be common without being socially acceptable or "normal". The implied joke is not that cousin relationships are merely common in WV, but that they are the "norm".

Anyway, if we're going with tasteless stereotypes to make a joke, why not go with Alabama (over WV) since it is both stereotypcially backward AND has legalized first cousin marriages AND has a certifiable ass as its coach?

I'm taking a guess here, but as a New Yorker, we have a lot of old laws on the books - I'm guessing this is a remnant from colonial days where it was very important for the prominent families to inter-marry for political reasons, and everyone was everyone's cousin. This was back when the Livingstons and another family whose name escapes me basically ran all of New York.

And then they probably never changed it for the reason you suggest - it just isn't much of an issue in this state, I suspect.

Impregnating your 14 year old cousin, though, that would definitely run afoul of the law.

Shit like this story is highlighted because it draws attention. What you don't see are the millions of people doing things that aren't fucked up.

We're not all fucked-up people. We're imperfect. And that's okay. We deal with it by banding together to un-fuck the world, because we're all we've got.

but I read this and immediately imagined the Game of Thrones scene where **SPOILER** Dbag Grayjoy gives that speech in Winterfell that appears moving. Then, at the end, someone knocks him out from behind and mockingly says "I thought he'd never shut up. Ok, let's go" as they drag him away, haha. Not because what you said is wrong but because it just read corny. No offense. Truly. I have no room to talk so no offense, just what immediately popped into mind after reading. Hope you see the humor.

a pretty story.

My wife ( who is 29 right now ) was the victim of sexual abuse at the hands of her father, during her teenage years. That abuse resulted in pregnancy. When she finally pressed charges ( it took a few years ), he recieved an 11 to 15 year sentence.

This thread fuckign sucks, the jokes that are being made fucking suck. Sexual abuse fucking sucks.
