Lou Holtz on crack

Submitted by milla61 on

Lou Holtz just said that the Irish defense should be encouraged that they shut down the Michigan offense minus Denard Robinson.  This guy needs to be taken off the air.

Analysts are supposed to not openly support one team or another.  Based on this rule Lou should have been fired the last 30 years for picking ND to win the national title.

Everyone knows his raison d'etre is to keep Mr. Irrational, Hopelessy Pathetic Irish Fan looking on the bright side (OK, maybe that and keeping the guy who cleans spittle off the ESPN studio cameras in work).  And, really, if you think about it, Notre Dame would likely be doing a bit better in the series against us if you took away players like Denard, Tate, Brandon Graham, Mike Hart, Chad Henne, Jake Long, Mario Manningham, LaMarr Woodley, Chris Perry, Anthony Thomas . . . and all those other flukes.  You have to take solace where you can when you root for a program that began its inexorable decline around the time that the draft was repealed.

Do all of you remember this? I didn't....

Holtz came under scrutiny after referencing Adolf Hitler in an on-air comment while appearing on College Football Live in 2008.[23][24] In his analysis ofMichigan Wolverines head coach Rich Rodriguez, Holtz stated, "Ya know, Hitler was a great leader, too." The next day, Holtz apologized for the comment during halftime of a game between Clemson and Georgia Tech.[25]

At the time, even my wife raised an eyebrow.

I'm not sure why Holtz appears to dislike Rodriguez so much. The worst thing Rodriguez seems to have done was to leave West Virginia to take another job before his team went to a bowl game--just like Holtz did when he was at Minnesota.

Lou's steady theme is that ND is great team and should win the NC every year - if only they had a coach as good as he was.  The players are always great.  The team is always the best, the fans are the best.  If they don't win it must be that the coach just doesn't measure up to his greatness.  He sets up every ND coach for failure every year by setting bar at NC or bust.  Did it to Davey, Willingham, The Big Fella, and he will do it to Kelly too.

Just LOL and feel pitty for Mark May.

Oh that's what he said! I couldn't understand a single word he said. But I assumed is was moronic because it was Holtz talking about ND.

Japan did great in WWII... if you ignore 1943-1945.

Honestly, I agree with Holtz.  If you look at that ND team, and how they absolutely shut down our RB's and tackled very effectively, then you'll see a night and day difference from last year.great, but compared to last year it was a night and day improvement.  Maybe the defense wasn't   I don't see many teams stopping Denard.
