Looks like the Spartans got some depth on Dline
Former Nebraska DT Kevin Williams officially lands at Michigan State as a graduate tr… http://espn.go.com/espn/now?nowId=21-0524005468486507083-4 via @ESPN App http://es.pn/app
"Williams started four games over the past two years with the Cornhuskers and made four tackles last season."
Sounds like a real playmaker.
When most of the discussion on him is related to his time lost to injury I wonder how excited MSU fans should really be. Maybe their HGH program will help keep him healthy for 1 year.
This board was laughing at the depth along the MSU line.
This guy might not (i.e., won't) be a superstar but once they juice him up he'll probably be better than the walk-ons and freshman MSU was going to have to deploy otherwise.
There's a reason he left UNL. Sounds like a nice kid and eternal scout teamer. Will help their depth dilemma.
cool.
alright
Mhmm
Yup.
10-4
Okie dokie
Fart noise.
For a team that considers itself a "quality program." So if getting a beat up, malcontent player in the month of May is quality, then I am happy for them. I am so tired of this mirage in East Lansing.
If it's D Line the question isn't so much starts its how many downs did he play. I think the quality of grad transfers can depend a lot on the position. A position where there's only one or two slots on the field can have somebody pretty good trapped 2-3 spots down the depth chart (who therefore may want to transfer). Positions that already use a lot of bodies maybe less so. If for example you're a LB or D Lineman and are transferring because you aren't getting downs, it means that you're not even in the top 3-4 on the depth chart typically. Whereas a 2nd string QB or RB could be very good but just barely lost the competition to the first stronger.

I agree. The backup QB from Iowa worked out really well for us.
Okay...
Why is a super minor transfer to MSU threadworthy?
During the off-season, involving a rival. Beats discussing TV shows
I will discuss TV shows forever over Msu. Or I will discusee knitting or anything else super boring.

I couldn't care less about the day to day of MSU football. Unless it's something truly major, or directly involves U of M, can we just stop talking about them?
They're an opponent. A major opponent. If you don't want to keep up on our opponents, you don't have to. Hell, you don't have to read this blog at all. But the personnel of our opponents is actually pertinent info to most of us. I like to stay informed on our opponents. If you don't want to hear about MSU, stop clicking on the fucking threads.
So a post about an addition to MSU's defensive line rotation is of no legitimate interest to any UM fan, but your detailed comment about your seats in Ohio Stadium is?
In a thread about Michigan season ticket holders buying away tickets in response to someone asking a question directly about seating in Ohio Stadium?
Yes, certainly.
Maybe I was wrong to complain about this thread. I guess it is useful info info for OT season. I apologize (Although the thread title itself is pretty stupid).
But if you're complaining about my comments in the other thread, you're way more wrong than I am.
It's not off topic to discuss our opponents. This is quite literally on topic by Brian's definition (and mine as well). We play MSU. I want to know who is on the team. Why this is an issue with you, I do not know.
then by your logic, a thread could be posted on every single opponent's graduate transfers? I understand if Maryland lands a 5 star whom we were after, but every MSU grad transfer? come on. And I understand the "don't click on it" logic as well, but sometimes constructive criticism helps future threads.
It's not constructive criticism it is closer to immature whining when those who aren't interested can easily ignore it and when this information clearly relates to Michigan football. Also, it's plainly obvious many on this site value this info, so for another to want it gone is arrogant as hell.
Agree to disagree. This is a position of need for MSU and it's a kid who has been a contributor on a good team. This is not some random grad transfer. And it's the second most important team to us. I find this information important.
You are probably right, I just really hate their stupid team. But this guy is pretty perfect for them with his whining, so, cool.
I hate them too. Which is all the more reason to know about them. If this was Illinois or Purdue, I'd agree with you. No need to post about it. But it's MSU, so I'm interested.
post looked interesting enough to read and I got to say I enjoyed seeing that whiney video. When we play them if the guy is a backup then, wouldn't having seen this video will add an extra bit of backstory merriment?
I never said it was Off Topic.
I just agree with Mabel here. I feel like most on here would scoff at RCMB for having a thread for every single minor transfer we got, like say Wayne Lyons from last year.
I think it would be weird if RCMB didn't have a thread about Lyons. Knowing your opponents is a big part of being a sports fan. This isn't one of those "Did you hear Draymond Green's comments after the Warriors game?' types of threads. This is pertinent, on-field information that will potentially impact our game with them this fall. That isn't being obsessed. This is a team that has owned us who we're trying to beat on the road this fall.
This is a Michigan football blog, so even (what you make think is) small news about MSU, certainly on-field news, is thread-worthy. LOOOOOTS of stuff that shows up on this board, especially in the off-season, is not thread-worthy. But this is.
I hope I hear this name on the TV broadcast talking about how he got pancaked by the Michigan OL all day.
Michigan recruited him out of high school, and he took a visit here. There wasn't a ton of mutual interest, it seemed. I don't think he'll have a huge impact at MSU. Nebraska has done a decent job of developing defensive linemen, but they couldn't get him to contribute much. I assume he'll be Just A Guy.
Just a Guy?
I smell DISRESPEKT!!
Well, he didn't say good depth. . just depth
Good depth, bad depth, just depth... Who gives a shit?

Can we assume he's not a dude, rather he's just some random guy?
Nebraska lost a lot on the DL this year too, so his transfer was somewhat of a surprise.
According to Husker fans he would have started for them this year. His biggest issue has been health as he can't ever stay on the field, but according to Nebraska fans he's a solid player when he can.
I knew I remembered this name from somewhere. Should fit in perfectly at MSU. DISRESPEKT.
Please don't post videos that autoplay.

looks like someone's not getting an interview until he gets something straight.
I think there's a difference between "added some depth" and "found a playmaker."
