Looks like multiple Michigan Facebook accounts have been hacked

If you haven't been over to Facebook this morning, it looks like multiple accounts including the football and basketball accounts have been hacked.

Hoke is just sitting in front of his computer wearing his online gaming headset, while Brandon stands behind him laughing diabolically because their plan has actually worked

It concerns me regarding electronic security for the university as a whole. Did an individual not follow a policy, or are policies insufficient or poorly communicated? Root cause is important here. Is my personal data on a university server next? Plus it's embarrassing.

It's a social media account, not access to federally-protected student records. This probably just means the passwords were really easy, or that some idiot (probably a student) shared the pw's and some buddies had a drunken post-fest.

Either way,  this is a far cry from suggesting what you're suggesting. More than anything, it's just embarrassing.

Noticed it too.

Screams less of a "hack" and more of some computer within the AD is infected with crapware and is keylogging changed passwords and either immediately posting crap on same computer, or sending them out to a third party who has complete control.

ITS is already going full time on this, so I imagine it's quite a uphill battle.
