Looking for a Tailgate in EL

Submitted by MaizeNBlue on

Me and a friend from Utah (both freshmen) who doesn't quite understand the UM-MSU rivalry are heading up to State Saturday to try and scalp tickets.

Realistically, I don't know how likely it is we'll find them; if we don't, we'll watch at someone's tailgate if possible. Would anyone here that's going to be there be willing to have two guests for a bit?

Also, general advice for getting tix would be helpful. Thanks!!

Hey Maize, usually around the north and south sides of the stadium you will find the regular scaplers. I have never tried to buy one from them so I couldn't tell ya the going rate, or if the prices drop significantly after kickoff, etc... But every time I go into game I always notice them, so there out there! Also if you are brave enough to sit in the state student section (don't know how old you are) you can buy tickets from MSU students on allmsu.com. Good luck!

I tailgated for the 2007 game in EL at the tennis courts by the stadium. It was pretty much all State fans, but it was fun and relatively civil (with the usual college debauchery). It helps to have some State friends tailgating with you though.

I'm headed up to EL again this year with a group of M grads for the game and I'm going to try to do the same thing, but I'm open to other tailgate suggestions.
