Looking to next Saturday

Submitted by trueblue262 on

I am looking at the matchups next week and I am wondering if there are any reasons for Gameday to not be in Ann Arbor. Go blue! Bend dont break!

I was thinking the same thing, but as much as I hate to say it MSU has looked like the better team so far. Also if Denard isn't 100% against their great linebackers that isn't good.

Certainly possible, but a saturday night football location is more likely:  next week they are USC/Stanford and Miami/FSU.

My money is on Miami:  Gameday isn't going to go west coast 3 weeks in a row.

State impressed me with that offensive line.  How good is Wisconsin really?  Hard to say, but MSU bludgeoned a top 10 ranked team with their run game. We had better be ready.

The positive side to what MSU did and really what Illinois did, is that we know that we can beat anybody on our schedule if we play well. Wisconsin isn't looking like the auto-loss we might have assumed.

Between everyone wanting to see Denard and MSU's win over highly ranked Wisky I think gameday should be rolling into Ann Arbor this weekend.  There's enough national intrigue there.

LSU @ Florida? Would Game day go if Florida loses to Alabama tonight?
Bama @ South Carolina? Again South Car has a loss.
USC @ Stanford? Maybe if the cardinals beat the ducks.
Fsu @ Miami? Who cares ACC sucks!
MSU @ Michigan? Both teams 5-0, D. Rob & Mark Dantonio story lines. Very good chance that Game Day shows up.

We're probably going to see a ball-control game plan that chews up clock. It damn-near worked for Indiana today. MSU is much, much better than Indiana.

Indiana also managed to shut down Denard at a couple of points. Sure, they couldn't do it when it really mattered, but, again, MSU is way better and they have a solid LB corps.

I think I'm going to get seriously sauced before next week's game so that I'm a little more loose. Otherwise, I just might have a heart attack.

Someone dinged you a point for no apparent reason except you are probably saying the truth that they don't want to hear.  But thanks for keeping it real. Michigan state was impressive today.

Here's one.  I still think their secondary stinks. Wisconsin dropped some balls and their quarterback wasn't good.

Michigan State won this on their offensive line and their run blocking.

We can and will move the ball on them, maybe not high octane like today but enough.  They won't move it on us like Indiana did. It isn't MSU's nature.

But we're not in any position to be overconfident that I can see.

MSU, as much as i hate the whiny bastards, looked like they will be a load next week.

I can see them pushing the defense all over the field and eating up the clock a LOT.

I was very confident about beating Sparty....until i saw them vs. the Badgers today. They are tough and physical. Its great to score so many points like we have been....but points are going to get harder and harder to come by as the next few weeks un-fold.

MSU has impressed me. But they the type of offense that we can actually defend to some degree. They will come out and try to impose their will on our defense by pounding the rock. I somehow doubt that they switch it up and go all Indiana on us with five wide all the time, that isn't their M.O. We will put pressure on their offense because we will score, which will hopefully cause them to stumble. If the 12th man is in full effect like, then we will be fine!

MSU is going to be a tough game without a doubt, but I think what you've said about their running focus is key.  Our rushing defense has been much better than our passing so far this year.  It'll be close, but I can't think of a player in the NCAA that I'd rather have running an offense than Denard, hopefully that'll make the difference.
