A Look ahead to tOSU vs Michigan @ The Schott this Friday. FDF Minus 7

Submitted by WingsNWolverines on

As we draw closer to Michigan's biggest game of the CCHA regular season we now have to look once again at our next matchup against Ohio State on the road. The Bucks have had our number twice this year and currently sit at #2 in the country as we sit only 7 places below them at #9. The magnitude of both games for Michigan is HUGE. We NEED both of these wins to not just get into the top 5 in the Pair Wise but to also help us on the road up to securing home ice advantage in the CCHA playoffs. I do not and I repeat DO NOT want to lose one more game to these fucks this year. It's bull shit OSU is even good in hockey when their professional team only has 11 wins in the NHL. WTF. Our power play has to improve and we have got to hold leads and build on them this Friday. I'm sick of this leading by 2 or 3 then blowing it all away late in the game. Against OSU these are two things that need improve stat. Also we need Hunwick in goal he's our leader in net. Treais needs to step up and start scoring goals and get back to the way he was last year. We do not have a ton of senior depth like we did last year but we do have experienced juniors and seniors who need to be leading this team. Guptill and Guiseppe have both become my favorite players on this team right now. Guiseppe reminds me a little of Pavel Datsyuk when he has room to move. So with this all said I have three questions.

1. Is Hunwick good to go for Friday and Sunday or is he still being evaluated?

2. Do lines need to be switched around on the power play?

3. What are your expectations for this Friday and Sunday? Besides winning of course, what are you mainly wanting to see the most from this Michigan team against the 2nd best team in the country?

Don't dignify their arena by calling it "The Schott" (not that that's highly dignified).  It's Value City Arena.  Celebrate their tackiness.

We WOULD REALLY LIKE both of these wins to not just get into the top 5 in the Pair Wise but to also help us on the road up to securing home ice advantage in the CCHA playoffs
We'll still be ok if we don't get these games. Given, a sweep would be bad but a split is probably fine. And I don't remember Treais really doing much last year. I thought he scored some goals and showed flashes of being a scorer but never really grew into that or am I forgetting something

I think the problem is that we don't have a top scorer this season. Normally we have at least one player that finds the net with some nice moves. This season seems like we rely on bounces and "dirty" goals in the front if the net. Plus the PK sucks this season, especially early in the year.
