The majotiy of those texts are probably from group messages. Those things can get dozens of texts in the blink of an eye. I would not be surprised if LLT had a number of group messages that he hasn't checked in, what the kids call, a hot minute.

I am confused by this as well. Although I think he was supposed to be a grad transfer over the summer and eligible to play immediately. Maybe he finished his Michigan degree in the spring or summer semester and is just now walking?
