there would have to be some to wash away
Logan Tuley-Tillman is "Arguably the nation's top 2013 recruit"
Hopefully don't turn out to be another Jordan Damond.
It seems like Diamond's plan all along was to wait untill late in the process to commit, but Logan has said that he wants to announce on his birthday (March I believe). They both also seem to have very different personalities, Logan is driven to succeed and he won't wait around if he knows he found the right fit.
I wouldn't be surprised to see him take a little more time, maybe even through the summer. The kid is getting a look from a ton of schools and this is a very important decision that he should make the right decision on. Because of that he may feel he needs to do a little more research and take a few more visits before committing so soon. This isn't based on anything other than the fact of what I would probably do in his shoes (not in my own shoes, as I would pick Michigan at the drop of a dime), and is no way intended to be a knock on him.
It's a huge, huge decision, that's all. Either way I hope he picks Michigan.
Shane Morris disagrees with your post.
Jeesh lay off, man. Just because he didn't a decision based on your schedule doesn't mean he's some limelight-hogging douche. He's maintained a long timeline from the beginning.
The only people that thought he would commit by now are people that are optimistic he's picking them.
I was under the impression that the Hoke regime wasn't quite as high on Diamond as the old staff. It sure seemed that way at least.
has been following recruiting.
I didn't realize this, but it makes me glad that I don't follow recruiting as closely as I used to.
I was still an avid recruiting follower back when Michigan first started courting Diamond.
It seems that could partially be the issue, but Diamond was never going to make an early decision. It is also kind of a policy for big time recruits at Simeon (ex. Chris Bryant) to wait until the end of the recruiting process.
Kinda wish Tuley-Tillman wasn't rated so high so early, it might be a little easier for him to stay humble through the process. You know?
Pretty sure as the kid who scrapes together the $75 roundtrip for the train/bus ride to his NFL training facility whenever he can is not going to have a hard time staying humble.
Was sarcasm toward aaamich, and him saying in a previous thread he wishes Shane Morris wasn't rated so high, because it will be tough for him to stay humble. I'm guessing you missed that one.
I think the standard for a high profile recruit wasting our time should always be Ronald Johnson.
Alex legion in basketball
I prefer to keep Alex Legion as the cautionary tale for what happens when a family is batshit crazy.
I don't really remember the Rojo recruitment but did he really 'play with us' like Pryor did? Terrelle Pryor knew he was going to go to Ohio State for a long time and made us waste our time trying to recruit him. Other than him I haven't seen many recruits do the same.
Jordan Diamond is just waiting, not wasting our time. I also think don't think he meant to insult Diamond, just say that we were the clear leader for a long time and now have faded to the back of his top 5. We've had the same situation with other recruits but Jordan Diamond is obvious one this year...
Jordan Diamond could easily still GO BLUE!
At the moment Alabama looks to be the greatest challenge
This kid has it all.... Talent and classy kid. He is at type of guy that makes this team better in many ways, not just on the field. Happy to see he is getting so much attention. Well deserved. I believe he is ours to lose at this point! Seems to love Michigan and has taken multiple visits to Ann Arbor.
Coach Jackson is that you?
He loves Michigan right now. He has said he wants to go to Bama's junior day...anyone know when that is?
January 28th. He will be in Columbus this weekend and was recently offered an invite to USC's junior day which I believe he plans on attending as well.
Given the quality of the 2012 class, it's crazy to think that 2013 might even be a better class for UM, especially the way Shane Morris is working on it.
How nice will it be to have high end talent AND high quality depth across the board?
If our 2013 class ends up comparable to our 2012 class, we've got a very bright future ahead. And with the first two guys we have committed and the job they're doing as recruiters, I think that's very possible.
Was it common knowledge that Yuri was set to visit Cal? It says so in the article. I apologize if I'm behind on that but I dont recall anyone saying that Cal was in the race.
Ain't Gonna Happen
(order irrelevant, all firm at zero percent)
- Yuri Wright
- Stefon Diggs
- Demar Dorsey
- Danny O'Brien
- DeAnthony Arnett
- Aaron Burbridge
- Brionte Dunn
- That "5 star 2012 guy who's considering Bama and LSU"
Have I forgotten anyone?
Not real worried, OL recruiting is off the charts, this is a great if happens, not the worst thing if it doesn't.
well i wish that the Bama game was another season away, then we would really have the time to develop the 1st two Koke classes.....but then again Denard would be gone so its a win/lose.
Arguably?! We're talking about high school football recruit rankings. Who in their right mind would 'argue' about such things?
Random image from the past:
has an announcement date. cant see into pay site. seems like a good thang?
Of January. Not sure if that's good or bad. I'd link it but it's a pay site from TomVH!!!
i had no idea tillman was that highly touted.. does he really have a shot to be the #1 recruit in 2013?
I'm not sure if he'd actually be the #1 recruit, but he has been blowing up as of late. The more offers and invites he's getting, the more likely it seems that his recruitment might not be such a short process. Michigan is still the leader though, at least from what I can tell. I'm guessing, however, that watching Alabama win the MNC and then having Nick Saban hand you an offer sheet two weeks later can have a dramatic effect on where you might want to play football. Depending on how the trip to Alabama goes, we might see Michigan pull in the lead for good. Or we might be in a real battle. That's my belief on his situation.
If we are able to get LTT & Shane, we'll have the nation's top 2 2013 recruits.
makes it a clean sweep.
Hello: Mega Class 2013
i've heard that dymonte thomas is also a top 50 recruit, and could go even further up in the future.
247 has him at 36, so if that's the consensus with the 3 major sites he's a borderline 5 star across the board. If we start off the 2013 class with Shane, Dymonte, and Logan, watch out. The more high profile commits we get early, the more that will jump aboard later. Recruiting is all about momentum.
We're talking about the final 3/4 spots for 2012, and soon we'll be filling the 18/20 spots left open in 2013, with a ton more talent considering us. I think the coaches learned a little from last year, because the only kids with UM offers seem to be top kids that we're taking the time to plant a serious foundation, like Logan Tuley-Tillman. This class could get scary good.
Not just Morris, Thomas, LTT, and Isaac, but the possibility of having a shot with guys like Robert Foster, Adam Breneman, Ben Gedeon, Jon Reschke, Wyatt Shallman, Billy Price, Elijah Daniel, Cameron Burrows, etc. - not just a few 5 stars on the radar but backing it up with a number of guys with potential to be in the top 100 as well.
Highly unlikely we land Cam. He's Ohio's to lose.
