Locker room issues after the game?

Submitted by Shop Smart Sho… on

I'm copy and pasting WMUKirk's post from the Snowflakes Offense thread.  Feel free to delete if you think it shouldn't be up. Figured people would miss this as it is buried in that thread.

"I do not know where to post this but here's information for you.

1. Michigan will be holding a players only meeting tomorrow, spearheaded by Jake Ryan, and Ramon Taylor.

2. Shane has a high ankle sprain, doubtful he plays next week. Can barely put pressure on it.

3. Desmond Morgan is highly upset that Jabril didn't play today.

4. Players morale has geniuely finally dipped.

5. Jabril turned his back to the coaches after the game, and looked in his locker. He's highly disgusted.

6. Doesn't feel like a team, defense keeps to defense. Offense to offense. Not much cross mingling between them after this game.

7. Nuss & Hoke argued with Dave Brandon present. Words weren't audible to any one else. "

Although it’s fair to say that no player ever should be bigger than the team, when Desmond Howard, on ESPN College Football Gameday yesterday morning, mentioned the only Michigan player whom he believes has the desire to be GREAT, he mentioned Jabrill Peppers.

Say what you will about him, but Jabrill Peppers always has been a winner, a leader and an exceptional talent on the football field and the track.  Does he deserve some special treatment? No.  But he, like every member of Michigan Football Team 135 who has a desitre to be GREAT, probably deserves a chance to be heard when it comes to discussing ideas for turning around a team that appears to be in deep trouble.

Peppers celebrates his 19th birthday next Saturday in his home state of New Jersey at Rutgers.  On the Rutgers sideline will be QB Gary Nova, WR Leonte Caroo and DL Darius Hamilton whom he’ll know well from his first two years of high school at Don Bosco Prep in Ramsey, NJ.  He’ll also know Rutgers’ freshman defensive lineman Kevin Wilkins from St. Joseph Regional in Montvale, NJ and sophomore wide receiver John Tsimis from Bergen Catholic in Oradell, NJ from having played against them in high school rivalry games.

Whether it’s the coaches or the players, or both, if it’s true that Jabrill Peppers is angry and frustrated at what he sees at Michigan, then it should be important for them to address Jabrill Peppers’ anger and frustration ASAP.  It might be wise for Michigan’s coaches and players to make sure that he’s not sulking on the Michigan bench or inside the locker room next Saturday night.

I can see many things in our future. None of them are paticularly good. This team is so fractured that they need a four star general of a coach to restore any semblance of actually being a team. And the road to that will not be pretty. They will probably lose more than a few players that are either too fed up with the entire program, or don't want to go through a complete overhaul.

I know we all hope that a new coach will be hired after this season, and that he will come in like a wrecking ball whipping up the team to a Big-Ten Championship next year. But in reality we are in for a big helping of pain for a while. My only hope is that that pain will lead to a brighter future.... least the program ends up being broken forever.

From what I had heard from a starter and key player on defense, Jabrill was hurt all week and on crutches. Broken bone of some sort. Maybe that was inaccurate, but that would be the first time he has been wrong about any teammate's status.

Doug Karsch just posted this on twitter... @DougAndGator971: As the dust settles post Minn, sources tell me Jabrill Peppers was not being disciplined yesterday. He was indeed injured. #d

Arguing for either one is idiotic says Salvatore Quatrro. Lmao. Yet he argued vehemently for the clown Hoke when it was past obvious he was incompetent. The K State game didnt convince you geniuses? I even gave you LOTS of inside info from the players (stars no less) that they thought he was a joke mid-season LAST year. Now you're all experts on how bad Hoke is with his incompetence oozing all over the place. Lololol. Magnus 2. He l9ved Lewan as the leader, and he has thousands of MGoDweeb pts so I guess he knows. Lol. This is what happens when you know jack about football but are a know it all computer dweeb:you show up late to the Obvi party.

I've been thinking this for weeks; what is going through the heads of these kids as they're watching older guys above them not do their jobs, only months after a recruiting process told them how good and special they were.

What is going through Charlton's and Poggi's heads as they're watching an undersized Brennen Beyer getting pushed around?

How is Patrick Kugler doing mentally backing up a converted DE?

How about Kalis backing up a walkon?

How about all the other younger OL backing up a converted DE at Center, a walkon at RG, and a lesser heralded RT?  I'm not saying I buy in to stars talk all the time, but these are kids who were promised opportunities by schools way better than UM right now on the field and with better track records of developing talent.

On the DL, morale can't be high with the ever changing DL rotations.

So because I'd been thinking this type of outburst from a younger player is possible, I can see how it's realistic for a kid like Peppers to after watching Countess and Taylor get roasted and play 10 yards off the receiver all the time get fed up and yell this at coaches, especially coaches led by a guy who's never made his affinity for seniors a secret.  I'd yell at them too if I were Peppers.
