MOD EDIT - while it is significant local news to those of us in southeastern Michigan as well as the Flint area, this thread kind of went down the road of....yeah. - LSA

And it came from militia leaders who also wished for a KFC and McDonald's to be built in the region.  People can argue what could be expected within 48 hours, but I don't know if anyone could make a reasonable argument that anyone should be criminally liable.

In this situation, you apparently have people that tried to cover up the lead issue.  They should be criminally charged.  Snyder shouldn't be charged unless it's discovered that he tried to cover something up or knew that the water system was tainted and they should not switch over to begin with.

...but man, I hate dealing with numbskulls.  As much as I don't like topics that can get too political here, they still end up more civil than anywhere else with a comments section.

Also, you may want to look at the long term affects of lead poisoning on children.  Not to dismiss the loss of a youth organization, but that does not cause psychological and developmental defects in children.

It wasn't the switch itself, it was that the city/DEQ didn't bother to test and treat the water with an anti-corrosive agent. It would've made the switch a non issue.

If what you're suggesting is true though, every leader everywhere should be fired when they sign off on something that turns out bad.

Every president ever would have been fired dozens of times by that logic.
