Lloyd Carr officially started his tenure on the NCAA Committee on Infractions today.
Lloyd Carr's 1st day on the new job--NCAA Committee on Infractions
Will Lloyd have to recuse himself when the Dick Costello/Twittergate case comes up?
Rich Rod and the Wildcats' sake they understand how long they have available to stretch per week or shit could really hit the fan!
I know I'm going out on a limb here, but I'm guessing his first day is tremendous.
from Northern and Missouri? Assistant at Illinois? So wait. When did he become a Michigan man? There really needs to be a committee appointed to determine when and if that transformation actually happens, and what the criteria are.
I'll bet you'll never be able to find a record of him saying "tremendous" before arriving in Ann Arbor.
1. Must be able to define or describe anything, even things generally despised, as either tremendous or outstanding in some fashion.
LC could go a long way toward reparing the damage from the losing record he shared with RR against Jim Tressel by making a full NCAA Investigation of Ohio State his only priority.
Gordon Gee is gone, removing Mark Emmert's motivation for letting them off easy. LC might be motivated to nuke Ohio now, especially since his friends are coaching Michigan again. All in all, LC could erase the stench of his last year and his shenanigans during RR's reign.
I would really like that.
just kind of get the feeling that Lloyd Carr may actually want Urban Meier dead, not figuratively, like that he would actually kill him given the right opportunity. Think about it, he went to the shotgun ON SECOND DOWN against Meier. It may now be LC's goal to ruin Ohio at all costs.
LCD has nothing to make up for. He won us our only national championship in decades, had a stellar winning percentage, handled the program with absolute class and was an absolute model representative of the university. As for his lack of support for rich rod, perhaps he saw some of the problems that many on this blog refused to acknowledge during rich's tenure and didn't want to put his head in the sand.
he really should apologize for the 2005 Wisconsin game. I am good with everything else.
Won national championship, stellar winning percentage (and increased Michigan's overall winning percentage), handled the program with absolute class, an absolute model representative of the university. Unlike so many other "iconic" coaches (Bobby Knight, Woody, Tressel, Paterno, Bowden, etc.), left position of his own accord and was asked to stay around the program.
Still lost to Appalacian State.
I had not realized his age until Sam and Ira mentioned it recently.
but no mgopoints!

Oregon's new facilities are amazing. Something tells me this will do more for them than nike jerseys.
This was posted already...
So many threads today contain information that was posted yesterday.
I usually stay up to date on the news in the blog. Guess I saw Oregon in the title and skipped it. Sorry about that!
Wonder what the career track is for these guys -- a number of them appear to be private practice attorneys without an obvious sports law bent.
Thanks for telling everyone that you're a lawyer.
Lots of crime within these here tubes?
Good luck. If anyone can cut through the red tape and deliver some brass-knuckled justice to the SECs of the world it's him.
There was an article many moons ago (over two years) where Carr actually rang in with his views on the enforcement woes of the NCAA, and I actually found the quote from Lloyd that I thought put the matter succinctly here (LINK to article). It reads:
"If you’re going to have a system that the public, the fans, respect and buy into, you better have a way of making sure those people who are violating the rules don’t prosper. You’ve got to invest the money to have investigators and whatever else you need.”
Hopefully, he will help to enact some change - I really did like what he said in this article. Good luck, Lloyd Carr.
Tremendous. No question, Jim.
Please focus your efforts on crushing the SEC's corruptive recruiting bullshit.
One more reason for him to nuke Ohio: that year when The Michigan team was stopped outside the shoe an forcibly searched by police dogs. Bush league Ohio move.
Gregory Sankey, SEC – Associate commissioner of the Southeastern Conference, Sankey handles all compliance matters for the league. A former commissioner of the Southland Conference, Sankey holds degrees from Cortland State and Syracuse. Sankey’s term expires in September 2016, and he is eligible for reappointment.
The Associate commissioner of the SEC handles all compliance matters for the SEC...what in the fuck?
