Between the bball team and the fothall team is that the bball team WILL improve throughout the year (you can bank on that), and the football team never did (aside from the osu game of course). So thats comforting, and also makes this loss not sting too much.

Wonder how Beilein will play this off... Hopefully mentions his team is not good at this point at all and really realizes how much better they really need to get. Just hope these losses don't get played off just as good teams and tough environments they are facing but rather just very poor play even outside of the tourney bad

It's acknowledging that they are nowhere near where they need to be.  They are not a typical Beilein team.  They are inconsistent shooters, they are stagnant on offense, they are sloppy with the ball, and today they lacked energy.  It's abominable to think that these guys are wearing the same uniform Zach Novak once did.  Where was the emotion?

I love the fact that Beilein is not a barking dog like Izzo, but sometimes you need to get tough.  Look at Coach K tonight.  Benched Sulaimon for the entire game to send a message.  Maybe you do that with GRIII.

And as much as we love Stauskas, he needs an attitude check as well.  High-fiving the fan isn't cute; it shows that your head is not in the game.  You should be focused on breaking free of the glove that Tyler Thornton has you in instead of pandering for the cameras

This game just goes to show how extremely badly we're missing a guy like Trey Burke. I don't necessarily think we would've won this game even if we had him on the court tonight, but damn, the offense looks completely out of sync sometimes now that there isn't a presence like Burke on the floor.

Despite being up 16 late, god I hate Duke.

Offense has just been so disjointed tonight, hope the b-ball season doesn't turn into a massive disapointment like the football season. Still time to get things straightened out, but clearly Burke's loss is a huge problem right now. If this team is going to improve McGary and Robinson have to become larger focal points and be more agressive.

Duke just made the mold on how to defeat Michigan. Cut off the threes. Simple. Nobody outside of LeVert has the ability to get their own shot and finish inside the paint. All 3 of our bigs play below the rim. Stauskas can be shut down by an athletic defender. You don't have to worry about rebounding, because Michigan is awful at it. Faceguard the shooters and make Michigan score 2's. Game over.

hopefully, that kid improves his D and gets consistency with his shot.  he is sorely needed.  unfortuneately, GRIII, morgan and horford are what they are.  i don't anticipate any improvement from those guys.

Attempt to calm everyone down: Duke hasn't lost in Cameron in 12 years against non-conference teams. Michigan is young. Stauskas did not look 100% tonight. This team will improve, all of Beilein's teams do. Two years ago they started conference play 1-6 and still made the tourney. Coach can turn them around and I think he will. Michigan was probably overrated to start the year but they will be about a 20-25th ranked team. I believe all will be fine.
