What the fuck kind of rule was it that Fox couldn't show the rest of the giants eagles game? Was that the case with everyone outside of the new york/philly markets?
December 19th, 2010 at 4:27 PM ^
Yah I was trying to figure that out myself. Fox was showing highlights of the game after haveing shown us the game tieing td. But couldn't show the game winner?
December 19th, 2010 at 4:32 PM ^
They could only show that game till a quarter after the hour.

Philly ties game, Giants have to punt with a few seconds left, Philly has no time outs left, and Joe Buck says, "DeSean Jackson hasn't taken a punt back for a TD yet this year..." Now he has.
Philly wins.
[Coughlin's yelling at his punter, not at Joe Buck.]

Because the other 31 points were his fault too.

He was harder on his old team than his senior partner on the local post-game show grading. (Wasn't asked to grade Joe Buck.) Special Teams - F, QB - B, because he had did have 4 TDs and only one interception; everybody else got Ds. They played so well for 3 quarters and then blew it in incredible fashion.
PS: Punter knew he should kick out of bounds, got a bad snap and tried to make something of it.

Isn't it funny how when the Lions play a team without a huge national fanbase they suddenly don't have a big penalty problem anymore?? Just a coincidence I'm sure.
Anyone else wonder if the Lions would still be leading the league in penalties if they weren't playing in a division with the Packers, the Bears and Brett Favre?

Lions were due, hell... Lions fans were due. Thank-God, another gut wrenching loss would have been a tough pill to swallow. It feels good that for 2 weeks in a row, it's another fan base that is devastated. Lord knows Lions fans have drank from that cup way to often. 2 Sundays in a row, I think we could get used to this strange, wonderful thing called winning.

Megatron was awesome, but how about that rushing attack in OT? 40 yards on the first two plays? Mo Morris over 100 yards, it looked, dare I say, decent? The end of the Giants game was insane, that is the reason prevent defense should never be called.

My editor cursed and slammed his fist on the his desk when they kicked the winning FG. Sounded like an awesome win. It was blacked-out in the office because we live too close to Tampa.

Well, this isn't just any loss for them.
This is a loss to the Detroit Lions. (You know, that team who went 0-16)
Make sure to rub it in for the rest of the day.

Needless to say it's a good thing I'm leaving the office soon.

Detroit transplants still loyal to their team.Detroit has some great football fans.

Proven when they moved the Minnesota/NY game here. Ran out of tickets in 2 hours.
I'd say Detroit has the best sports fans.
Besides Ann Arbor of course...

No open thread for the Wings game - this is the closest analogue.
Loved Abdelkader's fight against Ott just now. It seemed like it was over, and then JA hit Ott with an upper-cut and nearly flattened him.

Detroit's sports teams made history Sunday. The Pistons, NFL Lions and NHL Red Wings all played in overtime, the first time any city has had three teams in those major sports play overtime on the same day. The Pistons defeated New Orleans, the Lions upset Tampa Bay and the Red Wings lost to Dallas.

Without knowing the results beforehand, I probably would have guessed the complete opposite: the Red Wings win, the Lions and Pistons lose.
