Yes on promoting Austin...not sure about Linehan though.  Lions need an OC with the ability to get a running game and not confident in Linehan to do that (he didn't his first time around either).

Austin has done real well given the lack of resources on that end of the ball.  On the contrary, Jimbob has done little with what he has.

Lots of great storylines today (sadly, for those of you that are Lions fans, I’m not sure if you figure prominently in them). Do the Browns get a victory? Can Vikings - and their crazy QB situation- get a bye? Can Atl squeak in or will Sea finally figure things out? Will Jimmy GQ cement his meteoric status in SF by finishing the year out with another win? As a Niners fan, I’m pumped for today’s game. I can only imagine what our record would be if Jimmy GQ had been our starter all year, but - if we can keep him - the Niners and Rams are gonna be some fun games to watch in the future. Both teams are filling up with young studs...

because if there is, it is a fatalistic, nihilistic, dark place where the drink of choice isn't beer but arsenic.

and it'd be like an AA meeting.  "hi, my name is XM and i'm a lion's fan..."

the pity i get from people when i tell them i'm a lions fan is pretty funny.  i laugh and tell them i expect the lions to lose no matter what the game situation is.  up by 2 scores with 5 minutes left. no problem, the lions can blow that lead in less than a minute.  triple zeros on the board no worries, defensive penalty gives the offense a hail mary shot to beat the lions.

http://detroitlionsforum.com/ I've been a registered member there for some 10 years and used to be a moderator on the U of M page there, but seldom post anymore. Got fed up with the trolls (mostly buckeyes) that started infiltrating the Michigan page. The Lions home page there is pretty good, though. Their core group has been around for well over a decade, setting up their own forum when WorldCrossing forums shut down.

While I think it’s past time for Caldwell to go, Lions fans will be disappointed if they believe a new coach is going to make this team a contender next season. This offensive line is so bad. They have to be bottom 5 when factoring both run and pass blocking. If the Lions has even an average line, they would’ve won 3 more games this season.
