Did I see Mouton making some plays for Tenn?!
Lions v. Titans Open Thread
but no. That was cornerback Ryan Mouton.
wow....good to see we drafted broyles in the 2nd rnd. not that this team needed help in the secondary or anything.
Ours plays for the Chargers. This guy is Ryan, a DB. But not a common enough name you'd think there'd be two in the NFL.
Terrible play calling, throw the football.....no more of this 3rd down pitch to the big back LeShoure.
Mike Martin got the start today.
He had a nice 3rd down stop on Leshoure as well, although I'm not sure why the lions run the ball on 3rd down. Have they ever converted a 3rd or 4th in short on the ground?
Getting some good reps, just wish it wasn't against the Lions
Pathetic defense, pathetic refs
Fuck football. I'm becoming a cricket fan.
GO, uh, LOCAL CRICKET TEAM.
Pettigrew has dropped more passes than he's caught this year. It's getting pretty annoying.
Hey look what happens when you pass the ball? You get downfield quick and score TD's...
For both sides
How is that Matt Stafford has been in shotgun today more than Denard was yesterday?
is confusing for me.
Awesome special teams today guys.
2 special team touchdowns
The Titans have missed 2 field goals but have had a better special teams performance for than the Lions. This is crazy.
Allowing 2 special teams TDs is unacceptable.
Just happen right?
Well, that sucked
Wendling is a joke. He shouldn't be out there. F it.
Jacob Lacey is the worst CB in the league. I wouldn't blame Wendling for that.
This Titans team has gotten every break today and yet they still might not win. If the Lions ever get a competent secondary, they'd be unstoppable.
We will have someone competent in the secondary. Really tired of hear how "great" Delmas is when he can't stay healthy.
Some semblance of a pass rush from our "awesome" d-line would be nice as well. Avril and Suh have been non existent.
Leshure is going to take this offense to the next level. Defense still sucks though. Special teams is atrocious. I want 6 secondary players in next years draft.
Edit: and a TE strong enough to grip the ball
What a joke.
Man, this feels like yesterday's game.
Garbage, just garbage. All kinds of mistakes, and the first half Gameplan of run, run, pass, punt is terrible. Bad weekend of football all around.
With the strong hands.
Just unbelievable. Football is depressing me.
Pettigrew please. His drops and lack of ability don't make up for the occasional catch he decides to make. Put in sheffler and send him for maybe a cb that played in division 1
Scheffler didn't practice all week and was inactive today with a calf injury. But yes Pettigrew fails to live up to his potential.
But yes very displeased with pettigrew this season. He is making more mistakes than ever this year, starting with that dropped td pass against the rams to today's awful performance.
This weekend has been very embarrassing for me.
Oh good. I was hoping for another loss where the better team blew it.
Pettigrew has been a liability lately. It feels like he's done more for the other team than for his own this year. It's inexplicable, but we might need to bench him if he can't be trusted with the ball.
What a joke of a team
This team has no killer instinct at all. They are as soft as a cotton ball. Wow what a joke
we're playing Lions football. I'm shooting myself tonight.
We could have drafted Michael Oher instead of Pettibust.
You want another highly drafted and overrated right tackle?
We coulda been in the movie
Don't go down that road, it gets much worse when you start thinking about all the players Millen could have drafted.
Not sure why Broyles was picked and Eric Wright (Eazy E) wasn't re-signed.
Eric Wright wasn't worth the $40 mil that the Bucs overpaid for. I certainly agree the Broyles pick still baffles me, especially with Peter Konz right there.
I'm not even upset. That was just good comedy.
HOLY WTF WTF WTF
Oh my fucking god...unreal
what in the hell has happened!?
If we win this game it still better serve as a huge F'ing wake up call.
This is the most bananas game I've ever seen.
Fuck me running
I was looking for a miracle like that about 17 hours ago.
GOD DAMNIT COLTS!
But damn.... now the defense has to stop them
Is this real life?
This is the scoring breakdown for the last 7 minutes of this game
|TD||6:58||Nate Burleson 3 Yard Pass From Matthew Stafford (Matthew Stafford Pass to Nate Burleson For Two-Point Conversion is Good)||27||20|
|TD||6:53||Darius Reynaud 105 Yard Kickoff Return (Rob Bironas Kick is Good)||27||27|
|TD||3:23||Nate Washington 71 Yard Pass From Jake Locker (Rob Bironas Kick is Good)||27||34|
|TD||1:32||Alterraun Verner 72 Yard Fumble Return (Rob Bironas Kick is Good)||27||41|
|TD||0:20||Calvin Johnson 3 Yard Pass From Shaun Hill (Jason Hanson Kick is Good)||34||41|
|TD||0:06||Titus Young 46 Yard Pass From Shaun Hill (Jason Hanson Kick is Good)|
The D will give up the game winner. No worries.
this team is so undisciplined...
All game long.
At a certain point you cannot line up a hit any lower... Some of these helmet to helmet hits are getting ridiculous.
Touch the ground.
The ball wouldn't have made that bounce without making contact with the ground.
but clueless for both sides.
No pass rush whatsoever all game. Our DEs have been nonexistant all game.
Dude... We have a 10 million dollar de on our side... How could this be true?
Avril must have sat on his ass all offseason and whined about his contract instead of working.
Or maybe all of those double teams on Suh helped him out last season?
that got franchised because he think's he is Dwight Freeney. I, on the other hand, Purdon't.
Wow. What a catch!
J. Bell from Wayne St. seems very serviceable.
screw it....go for it.
can't they review the ball spot?
Lions lose. Fumbled snap on 4th and short.
What a total letdown.
If you can't get 1 feet you don't deserve to win. What a crazy frustrating game.
fuck. thought leshore had the first down on 3rd down.
Lions need a real coach
Not watching the game...no coverage here in Wisconsin. Did the Lions go for it on 4th and 1?
I'm embarrassed...I completely forgot about the revamped OT rules and thought we lost the game with Bironas' OT FG.
EDIT: I now get it. Fumbled snap. Sucks completely.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.........sweet snap Raiola......
The my friends sums up the state of michigan in football this weekend.
What a joke. Drop on 2 & 8, crappy effort by Leshoure to not get the first, then a botched play to lose the game. Why the need to snap it so quickly there?
Can't wait till we can dump Raiola and Peterman. The push on that play was embarrassing.
Same ol lions
Wow. I don't even feel like watchin any more football after this shitty weekend.
The Lions are just a bad football team. No secondary, ZERO pressure on the QB all game long, and the receivers/RBs/TEs can't catch dick except for Johnson.
I hate everything ever right now.
Godammit, only women should be this emotionally exhausting.
That was an epic game! Craziest game I have ever seen.. Im glad Megatron killed it though.
Aren't we supposed to have a "great" d-line? Locker had a career day.
I just hope we make the playoffs this year.
Coaching blunders in the NFL shouldn't happen.
he's trying to cover for his incompetent center. not that it makes it any better.
but reading the recap on ESPN I couldn't figure out why in fucking hell the Lions would be going for it on 4th down in OT instead of just kicking the FG to tie it. That would have been reminiscent of Morninghweg taking the wind instead of the ball in OT, but the fact that it was instead a colossal communications fuckup makes it that much better. Yep, same old incompetent Lions.
The way the game had gone I think going for it on 4th was the absolute right call. The defense couldnt stop a Prius in neutral, the pass rush was non existant and the secondary is as bad as we all thought it would be. A FG there would have just delayed the inevitable doom of the Titans marching down the field for the game winning kick. I said it above but if they can't get the right play call or get a foot on 4th down then they didn't deserve to win, and low and behold, they didn't deserve to win.
From the link just above you:
Schwartz on Lions Radio on last play: "Miscommunication. We were trying to draw them off-sides. We had NO intention of going for it there".
— Matt Dery (@deryNBA) September 23, 2012
Still the same old incompetent Lions, just a different incompetence
How do you mess up that communication? Raiola is the only person who needs to know that we're not snapping the ball. Just go to him and say, "don't snap the ball no matter what" and you're done
I think going for it is the right call. With less than 5 min on the clock (which would have been the case had they picked up the first) they might not get another opportunity on offense considering the way the defense had played all day.
because 2 assholes downvoted the thread because of the lions loss. Those are my points....MY points.
because I hate the Lions and its existence pushed down content that I was interested in. It was a massive inconvenience to my day.
You're right. I'm an asshole. I don't care about the Lions. If it makes you feel better I'd also downvote any other thread concerning the NFL. That is, unless it focused on a former Michigan player.
