The Light at the End of the Tunnel?

Submitted by Franke8 on
Well, lets face it the past several months have been rather frustrating to say the least. Second year in a row with no bowl game, last in the big ten, 6 straight years to losing to OSU, a very talented running back is out for some serious time with a knee, Warren is looking to go to the NFL, so far our recruiting class seems average and defiantly not a top ten class, and now looks like another Wolverine is leaving the program...... The frustration is starting to grow for me, enough so much that my Fiance (who is disappointly a Buckeye fan which stings my soul) and I got into an argument about her getting a Pryor jersey for X-mas. Which I'm not happy with for many reasons. I'm sure all Michigan fans are feeling that same frustration right now and with all the negative things happening we need a post that focuses on the positive things we need to look at, a feel good post, something to boost our moral. Where is the good news? In this time of darkness where is the light? What good things can we start to focus on? After seeing the front page about Brandon Smith I need something to help me get through the day..... Please fill in the blank.

violations....yet (hopefully never again). But wait, given our scholarship numbers and the retarded rule put forth by that m*****fucker Delany, we couldn't possibly have lesser guys on Scholarships anyway! Oh the joy...

we have a good (possibly great) coach, some really great recruits coming in, and we are STILL michigan. we improved (albeit only slightly) from last year, and we were oh so young. next year will be a huge factor in assessing the direction the program will take in the future.

Have her wear the Pryor jersey during sex. This way, you can envision her being a sort of "voodoo doll" that you are poking. Curse Pryor with every, uh, er..."poke" of the "needle" so to speak. It's a start. Other than that, make plans to go watch a bowl game next year...one which will feature your second favorite college football team.

Sad story, Grew up in Ohio, played divison 3 football at a school 15 minutes outside of Columbus, large majority of friends were OSU fans, and every girl there is a Buckeye because it's the popular thing to do, and while living in Columbus I never got to see a Michigan Victory.... it was painful. That's my sob story.

My G/f is from Ohio. Her Grandpa and Uncle are OSU alumns and played football. Both of her brothers are die hard OSU fans. Guess what she wore the weekend of the OSU vs. M game? my 1997 Authentic Charles Woodson jersey while I wore my authentic Mike Hart jersey. She was also cheering her heart out for the ole Maize and Blue Im just trying to change Ohio one person at a time.

That's no small task. Please let me in on your secret to how you accomplished this. Sad enough I told her if I were to die tomorrow my dying wish would be that she would become a 100% Wolverine fan. If I could some how get her to follow the Wolverines, even against the Buckeyes, my football seasons will be much more enjoyable. I'm not looking forward to spending football season with a Buckeye forever. Every time I even mention it she says, I'm selfish, ridiculous, I should accept her for her and etc. Any suggestions from an experienced converter?

I had the blessing of her only being a fan in moderation... ie.) family gatherings for games/tailgates/going to games... She came to school here in Michigan and so for her to be away from her family helped out tons. My selling point has been this... When I am done with school and become a season ticket holder her life will be much more enjoyabe being able see me by coming to the games with me on saturdays... If she's a buckeye fan my brother and I (he's graduating from UM grad school and getting season tickets shortly) wont let her into the family tailgate or the games... That sold her and the conversion is on...

It seems you were in a little better situation. Although I would love to be a season ticket holder I live in Indianapolis and travel a lot for work so, for now, that dream is on hold. It doesn't make matters any better that she went to osu for 2 years and had student tickets for four years making my situation much more difficult to bring her over to our side. Again any suggestions would be appreciated haha

for you to put up with that crap. Even if that is the case, that isn't going to last a lifetime and the buckeye jersey probably will. Think real hard about this..

He's a player without a position. Recruited as a highly regarded safety, but lacks great coverage skills and speed. Was still a project at LB and had potential to put on Muscle and be effective. Considering he already burned his RS he will have only two years left unless he transfer to a non BCS school. I would have to believe that he either wants to play safety instead of LB or that he just doesn't see any playing time for himself here. He may not be the last to go. We are still almost two full months away from signing day so stop saying the class looks average it is nowhere near done. The D will have the same coordinator for the first in a while. Most of the D returns plus some highly regarded RS. We will have a returning starter at QB, OLine depth should be the best its been in some time. You're a Michigan Wolverine fan.

Fuck her for wanting a Pryor jersey. I would buy it for her and wipe my ass with it, give it to her with shit stains on it. Not joking either. Fuck the bitch and use it as a cum rag

Go fuck yourself. If this guy gets offended for what I said about his wife wanting a Pryor jersey, then he is a pussy and doesn't have a right to wear the maize and blue. This is an internet message board. I don't know this guys wife or him, I'm sure they are good people - But I stand by my statement. If his wife wants a fucking Pryor jersey, then he should use it as a cum rag and wipe his ass with it. It was obviously a joke you dumb fuck. Be a fucking Man - if you are too sensitive to handle swearing, or too much of a pussy to put your foot down and not buy a Pryor jersey, then go to Columbus like Justin Boren because I "swear too much." Fuck Ohio State and especially fuck Pryor. I would without question use that piece of shit scarlet and gray rag as a fucking piece of toilet paper.

You're incapable of being funny, aren't you? Maybe that's not your fault - I don't know your story - but you sound like such a meathead, dumbfuck, mouthbreather it makes me cringe. I like swearing - swearing's my favorite - but I'm not a fan of misogyny or any other particularly ugly manifestations of idiocy more generally. You must feel really fucking message board aggro hardcore for saying such naughty things about the OP's wife, and taking such a hard e-line on Pryor and OSU ... but you're just making yourself look like an ass.

"I don't know if you're going to claim that this is a joke, but it's not funny. You're talking about someone's wife. Grow up." You're scolding me? Dude, you need to loosen up a little bit man. I apologize for offending this guy's wife, I'm sure she is losing sleep over it and he is steaming with anger due to my insulting her honor. Relax man. Using it as a piece of toilet paper is probably too classy for an OSU jersey, IMO

there are 12 (i believe) Players from last year's recruiting class coming off RS years, many of whom were highly rated and can contribute in some form. They will not be true frosh who had been in camp 4 weeks asked to help win Big Ten games, but 19/20 year olds with over a year in the system and S&C program. Experienced depth finally begins being built.

as I look at the '09 class, it could be as many as 13. Forgive me as my intoxication level during games increased as the season went on, but did any of the following players see time on special teams or otherwise: Isaiah Bell Hawthorne Mike Jones

Brandon Smith had way to many "ifs" attached to his name for me to really care about his decision to leave. We want players that want to be here...he'll regret it. He could have turned into a decent player by his senior year with Mike Barwis training him...but again..."could have". F*ck him.

You missed my point entirely. It's pretty obvious that all freshman come with lots of question marks, but by mid-season you already have a bit of an idea about the player and how they adapted to the speed of the college game, scheme, etc. I'm not concerned about a player that has no set position and isn't committed to our program. Relax, homer. ps. He ditched us, dolt.

We've been through this so many times on this board it's ridiculous. Just because a kid goes somewhere else doesn't mean we should resort to "Oh, F*#K HIM BECAUSE HE WASN'T A MICHIGAN MAN!" He had played for ONE year here, kids usually (read: almost always) improve between their first and second year. You're right that we have no idea how good he will become, but right now we need depth. Him leaving doesn't open up another spot in this recruiting class, so it's just plain bad. There is literally no upside to him leaving right now for us. However, that doesn't mean we need to call him names.

December 7th, 2009 at 1:59 PM ^

I never called him any names. You should read what I write before going off, Captain Crunch. The only reason a player like him would transfer after getting playing time this year is either b/c he doesn't like the coaches (Carr recruit) or he sees his playing time opportunity dwindling into next year, given the incoming DB help and red-shirted players that HE, and not YOU, gets to play with in practice. Let's not become so obsessed with depth, especially at the expense of chemistry and overall player attitude (which, if you've ever played collegiate ball, you know how much it affects your performance). Next time, read before you tell me to shutup. Rude....pwned. GO BLUE!

You said, and I quote, "F*ck him." How is that any way necessary or logical? But I guess you're right. He's probably got some major attitude problems. He's probably a leech on the team's collective psyche, and should be purged immediately. He couldn't possibly be transferring because he doesn't feel the system or the coaches fit him, rather than disliking the coaches personally. And it's not possible that there could be some other reason we don't know about because we haven't talked to him. Those are the ONLY explanations. Don't kid yourself and say that we don't need as much depth as we can get at this point. We're operating under the scholarship limit, and we're not guaranteed that any of his possible replacements will be better than him. I've read everything you've said, and granted, he could be leaving for the reasons you've stated. Jumping to "F*ck him" is ridiculous, and assuming we're better without him is absurd. You're right though. You pwned me. I'm giving you a point for that.

We don't see eye to eye on this one. Wasn't aware you're the moral authority when it comes to players leaving. I don't exactly comprehend your logic when you say that we are doing anything to him or tossing him out. He decided to not honor his commitment (imo & for whatever reason) and I decided to say "f*ck him". I didn't know I would have to answer to the message board's version of his mommy. Good luck Brandon - I mean it from the bottom of my shoe. The only Smith I concern myself with is Vincent.
