Liberty hires McKay from Virginia. Passes on Meyer

Submitted by readyourguard on

Liberty has hired Ritchie McKay to be their new head basketball coach.  Jeff Meyer was a candidate for the job.  This is McKay's second stint as Liberty's HC after 5 years on the Virginia staff.

I'm sorry Meyer didn't get the job, but I'm not sorry.  I'm glad he's part of our staff and hope he remains here for the forseeable future.

Can someone explain to me what Meyer adds? Just reading his mgoblue profile he is in charge of recruiting and post players both of which I have not been impressed with lately.

I really don't like it when comments like yours get downvoted.  You stated your opinion and you asked a genuine question.  You added to the conversation instead of derailing it or making things up to try to prove a point.

I had no idea what Jeff Meyer brought to the program either and I'm glad you asked your question.

Any offseason that comes and goes without attrition from the Men's basketball coaching staff is a success. This crew has proven itself worthy of our trust and appreciation.
