I've got nothing against Mallett, but I wouldn't mind seeing ECU knock off an SEC team.
January 2nd, 2010 at 7:22 PM ^
I have no problem with Mallett either. I usually root for him, too. But I also like seeing the upsets in bowl games. So, I'll root for ECU.
January 2nd, 2010 at 6:14 PM ^
As the commentators said in pregame, Ryan Mallet is the most dominant physical QB they have seen since Ben Rothlisberger, and like FA, I have no problem with him. Things didn't work out here, and he chose to leave.

I hate the number of SEC games that are essentially played in their backyards. While this one isn't as bad as say, LSU playing in the Sugar Bowl a few years back, Fayetteville is only 5 hours from Memphis. Greenville, NC is about 13 hours away. ECU may not travel well either, which only adds to the home field-like advantage.
So many camo hats.

now the announcers are talking about Pryor. Most hyped sub 300 yard passing performance evar.
January 2nd, 2010 at 6:27 PM ^
Does a qb have to have 300 yards to have a good game?
Based on his portfolio of work to date, yesterday's performance was pretty good. He obviously is not going to be writing any passing record books and his option takes way to long to develop, but he did not lose the game for them and let the defense do its job without extreme pressure.
Now do I hate him b/c he is a suckeye rather than a Wolverine..Hell yes...but it was not like he sucked up the joint last night. .
January 2nd, 2010 at 6:30 PM ^
The MSM is making it out to be some groundbreaking performance, it was a solid effort but nothing spectacular.
January 2nd, 2010 at 6:30 PM ^
I think you've got it right. Comparatively, that was quite a good game for Pryor. He didn't lose the game for them, he didn't throw a bunch of picks, arm punt the ball, or attempt to fight one of his own players. Hell, far as I can tell, he didn't even tell any members of the media that he would be okay with everyone in the stadium being murdered. Arguably the best day ever for him.

Were those boos from the Arkansas faithful at halftime?
January 2nd, 2010 at 8:23 PM ^
Booooooooom malleted.
January 2nd, 2010 at 8:37 PM ^
Well, Mallet is about to get his chance to lead the game winning drive. Or not. At least the end of the game looks to be exciting.
January 2nd, 2010 at 8:48 PM ^
Can they catch ive seen alot of good throws dropped.
January 2nd, 2010 at 8:48 PM ^
Can ECU do it? Mallet obviously couldn't.
January 2nd, 2010 at 8:51 PM ^
The ECU defense is really embarrassing the top SEC offense. Which is awesome, IMO.
January 2nd, 2010 at 8:53 PM ^
C'mon, make this kick!
January 2nd, 2010 at 8:54 PM ^
Third time off the post? That would be too funny.
January 2nd, 2010 at 8:54 PM ^
is going to come out of this bowl season with a decent record, but a lot of those teams looked not good: Auburn, South Carolina, Ole Miss, Arkansas.
January 2nd, 2010 at 8:55 PM ^
Son of a ...
January 2nd, 2010 at 8:55 PM ^
ARGHHHH
January 2nd, 2010 at 8:57 PM ^
There might even be Arkansas fans rooting for him to make just to get out of the cold.
EDIT: That poor kid : (
January 2nd, 2010 at 8:56 PM ^
of northwestern's bowl. so many chances to win the game with a FG but they can't do it
January 2nd, 2010 at 8:56 PM ^
Again with kickers making the difference. adka'ghkaldkghasg.
January 2nd, 2010 at 8:57 PM ^
...with Ryan Mallett wearing that black ski-mask/balaclava
it's like an MSU hangover
January 2nd, 2010 at 8:58 PM ^
it would have been cooler if you actually knew who had the ecoin head/tail...otherwise pointless graphics
January 2nd, 2010 at 8:59 PM ^
an electronic coin toss? no room for manipulation there, no sir
January 2nd, 2010 at 9:00 PM ^
I just think Arkansas has the size/strength to win this in OT... but I hope not.
January 2nd, 2010 at 9:02 PM ^
OUCH!
January 2nd, 2010 at 9:02 PM ^
This FG kicker is like a pendulum - right, left, right, left....
Poor guy is gonna kill himself if this looses them a game.
January 2nd, 2010 at 9:03 PM ^
Well, that was pretty much the definition of a player losing a game. I'd recommend he stay in Memphis for the rest of the semester.
January 2nd, 2010 at 9:04 PM ^
Northwestern yesterday.
January 2nd, 2010 at 9:06 PM ^
Another FG attempt for the win.
Can they do it?
Ugh. Another SEC team saved by the opposing team's awful kickers.
January 2nd, 2010 at 9:06 PM ^
It'd be too awesome if ECU won it in double overtime on a FG. Final redemption.
Nope.
January 2nd, 2010 at 9:06 PM ^
will we hear S-E-C chants now in the postgame? we can only hope
January 2nd, 2010 at 9:07 PM ^
The SEC is such a mighty conference. Look at the way they dominate in bowl games.
January 2nd, 2010 at 9:17 PM ^
That Liberty Bowl trophy is awesome.
