Liberty Bowl

Submitted by CRex on

Anyone else watching the Liberty Bowl (I keep wanting to type Liberty City Bowl, stupid GTA) just for the express purpose of hoping the ECU pass rush eats Mallet alive?

As I'm typing this Mallet almost took a sack in the endzone. Sweet.

As the commentators said in pregame, Ryan Mallet is the most dominant physical QB they have seen since Ben Rothlisberger, and like FA, I have no problem with him. Things didn't work out here, and he chose to leave.

I hate the number of SEC games that are essentially played in their backyards. While this one isn't as bad as say, LSU playing in the Sugar Bowl a few years back, Fayetteville is only 5 hours from Memphis. Greenville, NC is about 13 hours away. ECU may not travel well either, which only adds to the home field-like advantage.

So many camo hats.

Does a qb have to have 300 yards to have a good game?

Based on his portfolio of work to date, yesterday's performance was pretty good. He obviously is not going to be writing any passing record books and his option takes way to long to develop, but he did not lose the game for them and let the defense do its job without extreme pressure.

Now do I hate him b/c he is a suckeye rather than a Wolverine..Hell yes...but it was not like he sucked up the joint last night. .

I think you've got it right. Comparatively, that was quite a good game for Pryor. He didn't lose the game for them, he didn't throw a bunch of picks, arm punt the ball, or attempt to fight one of his own players. Hell, far as I can tell, he didn't even tell any members of the media that he would be okay with everyone in the stadium being murdered. Arguably the best day ever for him.

Well, Mallet is about to get his chance to lead the game winning drive. Or not. At least the end of the game looks to be exciting.

is going to come out of this bowl season with a decent record, but a lot of those teams looked not good: Auburn, South Carolina, Ole Miss, Arkansas.
